This document provides instructions for the De'Longhi Geometric 23L 900W Solo Microwave Oven, model AM9P022DT-P00F.

Function Description

The De'Longhi microwave oven is designed for heating food and beverages. It offers various cooking modes, including microwave cooking at different power levels, express microwave mode for quick cooking, weight defrost, time defrost, and a pre-programmed auto menu function for common food items. The oven can also be used as a kitchen timer.

Usage Features

Control Panel: The control panel features a display and various buttons and a knob for operation.

  • Display Symbols: Microwave, High Microwave Power, Weight Defrost, Time Defrost, Clock, Kitchen Timer, Auto Menu, Keypad Locked.
  • Buttons: Microwave, Defrost, Clock, Kitchen Timer, Stop/Clear, Start/+30SEC/Confirm.
  • Knob: Used for setting Time, Weight, and Auto Menu.

Setting the Clock:

  1. Plug in and switch on; display shows 0:00.
  2. Press CLOCK button once, hour digit flashes. Turn FUNCTION knob to set hour.
  3. Press CLOCK button again, minute digits flash. Turn FUNCTION knob to set minute.
  4. Press CLOCK button again to save. (24-hour clock)

Stop Cooking / Cancel:

  • Press STOP/CLEAR button or open the door.
  • If door is OPEN, press STOP/CLEAR ONCE to clear settings.
  • If door is CLOSED, press STOP/CLEAR TWICE to clear settings.

Child Lock:

  • Activate: Press and hold STOP/CLEAR for approx. 3 seconds until locked icon (10) is displayed.
  • Deactivate: Press and hold STOP/CLEAR for approx. 3 seconds until locked icon (10) is no longer visible.

Kitchen Timer:

  1. Press KITCHEN TIMER button once; display shows 00:00.
  2. Turn FUNCTION knob to set time (max 95 minutes).
  3. Press START/+30SEC/CONFIRM to save.
  4. Timer counts down and bleeps five times when finished.

Selecting Microwave Power Level: The default is full power (P100). To select a lower power, press the MICROWAVE button repeatedly or turn the FUNCTION knob before setting cooking time. Power levels include P100 (100%), P80 (80%), P50 (50%), P30 (30%), and P10 (10%). Time increments vary from 5 seconds for 0-1 min to 5 minutes for 30-95 min.

Express Microwave Mode:

  1. Place food in a microwave-safe container, close door.
  2. Press START/+30SEC/CONFIRM to cook on full power for 30 seconds. Each press adds 30 seconds.
  3. Alternatively, turn FUNCTION knob left to set time, then press START/+30SEC/CONFIRM.
  4. Microwave starts automatically.

Microwave Cooking:

  1. Place covered food in a microwave-safe container on the turntable.
  2. Press MICROWAVE button to select function (P100 flashes). Adjust power with MICROWAVE button or FUNCTION knob.
  3. Press START/+30SEC/CONFIRM to save. Turn FUNCTION knob to set cooking time (5 seconds to 95 minutes).
  4. Press START/+30SEC/CONFIRM to start.
  5. Cooking can be interrupted by opening the door; settings are retained. Press START/+30SEC/CONFIRM to resume.
  6. After cooking, microwave turns off and bleeps five times. Allow food to stand.
  7. Stop cooking at any time by pressing STOP/CLEAR or opening the door.

Defrosting:

  • Weight Defrost:
    1. Weigh item, place in microwave-safe container on turntable.
    2. Press DEFROST button once (d01 appears). Turn FUNCTION knob to enter weight (100-2000g).
    3. Press START/+30SEC/CONFIRM. Defrost time is calculated automatically.
    4. Microwave defrosts, then turns off and bleeps. Rearrange food halfway through.
  • Time Defrost:
    1. Place food in microwave-safe container on turntable.
    2. Press DEFROST button twice (d02 appears). Turn FUNCTION knob to enter defrost time (max 95 minutes).
    3. Press START/+30SEC/CONFIRM. Microwave defrosts, then turns off and bleeps. Rearrange food halfway through.

Multistage Cooking: Program up to two consecutive functions (e.g., defrost then cook).

  1. Place food in microwave-safe container.
  2. Press DEFROST twice (d02 appears), turn FUNCTION knob to set defrost time.
  3. Press MICROWAVE, turn FUNCTION knob to select power level (e.g., P80).
  4. Press START/+30SEC/CONFIRM, turn FUNCTION knob to set cooking time.
  5. Press START/+30SEC/CONFIRM again to start.
  6. Display shows remaining time for each stage. Oven bleeps once at end of 1st stage, five times at end of 2nd stage.
  7. Cooking can be interrupted; resume by closing door and pressing START/+30SEC/CONFIRM.
  • Note: Auto cook and quick start cannot be programmed into multistage cooking. Defrost must be the first function.

Auto Menu Function: Pre-programmed cooking menu for various food items.

  1. Place food in microwave-safe container.
  2. Turn FUNCTION knob RIGHT to select auto-cooking program (A-1 to A-8). Press START/+30SEC/CONFIRM.
  3. Turn FUNCTION knob to select weight or volume.
  4. Press START/+30SEC/CONFIRM. Microwave starts.
  5. Cooking can be interrupted; resume by closing door and pressing START/+30SEC/CONFIRM.
  6. After cooking, microwave bleeps. Allow food to stand.
  7. Stop cooking at any time by pressing STOP/CLEAR or opening the door.

Auto Menu Programs:

  • A-1 Reheat (200g, 400g): Cooks by microwave (P100).
  • A-2 Meat (250g, 350g, 450g): Cooks by microwave (P80). Cut into small pieces, turn over halfway.
  • A-3 Vegetable (200g, 300g, 400g): Cooks by microwave (P100). Boiled or steamed.
  • A-4 Pasta (50g, 100g): Cooks by microwave (P80). Use eight times the quantity of water.
  • A-5 Potato (1-3 potatoes): Cooks by microwave (P100). Use room temperature potatoes, wrap in foil after cooking.
  • A-6 Fish (250g, 350g, 450g): Cooks by microwave (P80). Allow to stand for 2 minutes.
  • A-7 Soup (120ml, 240ml, 360ml): Cooks by microwave (P100). Heat from 5-10°C in wide neck cup/mug.
  • A-8 Popcorn (50g, 100g): Cooks by microwave (P100). Use microwave popcorn popper.

General Microwave Cooking Advice:

  • Cooking times vary with microwave wattage.
  • Beverages can result in delayed eruptive boiling; handle with care.
  • Remove lids, pierce plastic films; do not use sealed containers.
  • Pierce skin/membranes of food (potatoes, apples, fish, chicken, eggs). Never cook whole hard-boiled eggs.
  • Ensure food is similar size and density. Large items take longer.
  • Food quantity affects cooking time.
  • Place thickest part of food on the outside of the plate.
  • Allow food to stand after cooking/defrosting for even temperature.

Maintenance Features

Cleaning Your Oven:

  • Clean the oven and seals weekly, or more often if needed, to prevent deterioration and hazardous situations.
  • Always clean after each use, especially if fatty foods are cooked uncovered.
  1. Switch off, unplug, and allow to cool.
  2. Wipe surfaces and seals with a soft damp cloth (not wet). Do not use abrasive cleaners, metal scrapers, or steam cleaners. Do not immerse in water.
  3. The glass turntable and turntable roller can be washed in hot water with a little washing-up liquid. NOT SUITABLE FOR DISHWASHERS.
  4. Allow surfaces to fully dry before use.

Materials Suitable for Use in the Oven:

  • Plastics containers: Microwave safe plastic only. Avoid melamine dishes or food with high fat/sugar.
  • Plastic wrap: Microwave safe plastic only.
  • Glass cooking vessel: Heat resistant glass only.
  • Ceramic ware: Heat resistant cookware only with no metallic decoration.
  • Paper covering food: Use for reheating only. Do not leave unattended.
  • Browning dishes: Place upturned plate on turntable (to prevent heat stress) before cooking.
  • Disposable containers (paper plates/cups, thin plastic, roasting bags): Use for reheating only, follow manufacturer's instructions for roasting bags.
  • DO NOT use metallic containers, aluminium foil, or any metal trimmed packaging.

Troubleshooting:

  • Oven will not start: Check plug, switch, door, operation, power cut.
  • Arcing or sparking: Unsuitable materials, oven operated empty, spilled food.
  • Unevenly cooked food: Unsuitable materials, food not defrosted, incorrect power setting, food not turned/stirred, uneven sized food.
  • Overcooked food: Incorrect power setting, cooking period too long.
  • Undercooked food: Food not defrosted, unsuitable materials, restricted ventilation, incorrect power setting.
  • Incomplete defrosting: Unsuitable materials, defrost time too short, food not turned/stirred, uneven sized food.
  • Noisy turntable: Food residue, glass turntable not positioned correctly.
  • Oven light does not illuminate: Bulb burnt out, start button not pressed.

Plug / Wiring Advice:

  • UK Electrical Code: BLUE = NEUTRAL, BROWN = LIVE, GREEN + YELLOW = EARTH.
  • Non-rewireable plug: Fuse cover must be refitted. If lost/damaged, do not use.
  • Rewireable plug: Wires must be connected to corresponding terminals: BLUE to N, BROWN to L, GREEN & YELLOW to E (earth symbol). Rewireable plugs should only be replaced by a competent person.
