5. MAKE ESPRESSO COFFEE

the appliance and turn it
counterclockwise (always
turn as far as it will go).

under the portalter
spouts.

turns on.

To remove the portalter,
turn the handle clockwise.
If you want to use tall cups
(max 4.21 in/ 10,7 cm) sim-
ply remove the drip tray as-
sembly (A11) , (A12), (A13).
5.1 Tips for a hotter coee
To make espresso coee at the right temperature, the coee maker should be preheated as follows:
Turn the appliance on by turning the selector dial to ON (the ON light turns on) and attach the portalter onto the appliance
without adding pre-ground coee;
Place a cup under the portalter. Use the same cup to be used later to prepare the coee, in order to preheat it;
Wait until the READY light turns on and immediately afterwards turn the selector dial to
and deliver water until the
READY light turns o, then stop it by turning the dial to ON.
Empty the cup, wait until the READY light turns on again and then repeat the operation.
(It is normal for a small and harmless pu of steam to be given o when removing the portalter).
