The appliance offers a wide range of functions for preparing various coffee and milk-based beverages. Users can select directly from Espresso, Coffee, Cappuccino, and Latte Macchiato, or access a broader menu including Espresso Lungo, Ristretto, Long, Doppio+, Caffelatte, Flat White, Hot Milk, 2xEspresso, 2xEspresso Lungo, 2xRistretto, and Hot Water. The machine features a touch screen display (B1) that guides the user through selections and operations.

Coffee Preparation: The machine uses coffee beans, which are filled into the beans container (A3). The grinding adjustment dial (A5) allows users to fine-tune the coffee mill for desired strength and creaminess. The appliance is initially set to prepare coffee correctly, but adjustments can be made if coffee is too weak, too slow, or not creamy enough. For a hotter coffee, users can warm cups with the hot water function or increase the coffee temperature in the settings menu. The machine also supports pre-ground coffee (A4) for single-cup preparation, with a specific aroma selection (B7) for temporary variation.

Milk-Based Beverage Preparation: For cappuccinos and other milk-based coffees, the machine features a milk container (D) with a froth adjustment dial (D1). Users fill the milk container with milk (preferably skimmed or partially skimmed at refrigerator temperature) and attach it to the connection nozzle (A8). The froth adjustment dial allows for varying levels of froth, from no froth (for Hot Milk/Caffelatte) to maximum froth (for Cappuccino/Espresso Macchiato). The machine automatically delivers milk and then coffee according to the selected recipe.

Hot Water Delivery: The appliance can deliver hot water through the hot water and steam connection nozzle (A8) using the hot water spout (C6). This function is useful for warming cups or preparing other hot beverages.

Programming and Customization: The machine allows for extensive customization of beverages. Users can program standard quantities for directly selected beverages and those from the DRINK MENU (B12). This includes adjusting coffee aroma (B7) and milk quantity for milk-based drinks. The "My beverages" menu (B13) allows users to save personalized recipes. General settings include language (B1), coffee temperature, water hardness, auto-off time (15, 30 minutes, 1, 2, or 3 hours), energy saving mode, and beep sound. There is also an option to reset default beverage settings or all appliance settings (except language).

Safety Features: The appliance includes several safety warnings. Surfaces marked with a specific symbol can become hot during use. Users are advised to avoid contact with hot water or steam splashes during operation and rinsing cycles. Maintenance Features

Automatic Rinse Cycles: Performed upon startup and shutdown, and after using milk functions, to clean internal circuits and coffee spouts (A9).
Descaling Program: The machine prompts for descaling when needed (approximately every 45 minutes of operation). It uses a specific descaler (De'Longhi descaler recommended) and guides the user through the process, which involves emptying the water tank (A17), adding descaler and water, and performing rinse cycles.
Cleaning the Coffee Grounds Container (A11): The display prompts users to empty and clean this container when full or after 72 hours since the first coffee.
Cleaning the Drip Tray (A15) and Condensate Tray (A10): The drip tray has a level indicator (A13) to show when it needs emptying to prevent overflow.
Cleaning the Water Tank (A17): Recommended monthly with a damp cloth and mild washing-up liquid.
Cleaning the Coffee Spouts (A9): Regular cleaning with a sponge or cloth, and using a toothpick to clear blockages.
Cleaning the Pre-ground Coffee Funnel (A4): Regular checking and cleaning with the supplied brush (C5).
Cleaning the Infuser (A20): Must be cleaned at least once a month. It involves removing the infuser, soaking it in water, and rinsing. No washing-up liquid should be used.
Cleaning the Milk Container (D): The milk container (D) and its components (lid D2, spout D5, intake tube D4) should be cleaned after each use of milk functions. All components are dishwasher safe (top basket). The machine prompts to "Set dial to CLEAN" after milk use for an automatic cleaning cycle.
Cleaning the Hot Water Nozzle (A8): Cleaned with a sponge after each milk preparation to remove residues.
Water Softener Filter (C4): Available on some models, it lasts about two months or three weeks if the machine is unused. The machine prompts for filter replacement or removal.
Internal Circuit Cleaning: If the appliance is not used for 3-4 days, performing 2-3 rinse cycles and delivering hot water is recommended before use.
