This document describes the De'Longhi TRRS0715E Oil Filled Radiator, an appliance designed for heating spaces.
Function Description
The De'Longhi TRRS0715E is an oil-filled radiator that provides heat through a sealed system containing a precise quantity of special oil. This oil is heated by an internal element, which then radiates heat into the room. The appliance is designed for use in an upright position and is not intended for placement immediately below a fixed socket-outlet or in the vicinity of bathtubs, wash basins, showers, sinks, or swimming pools. It should also not be used in rooms smaller than 4 m² (approximately 43 square feet).
The radiator features a digital display (A) and several control buttons: an on-standby button (B), increase (+) and decrease (-) buttons (C and D) for temperature adjustment, a power button (E) to select heating levels, an ECO button (F) for energy-saving operation, and a timer button (G). It also includes a cord holder (H) and wheels (I) for mobility.
The appliance incorporates a safety device that automatically switches it off in case of accidental overheating. If the power cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, a technical service center, or a qualified person to avoid risks. The appliance should not be powered through an external timer to prevent accidental resetting of the safety system.
Usage Features
Initial Setup and Placement:
Before first use, the radiator must be positioned at least 50cm from furniture and other objects. For the first 15 minutes of operation, it should be run at maximum thermostat setting to eliminate any "new" smell from protective substances on the heating element. Hot air outlet grilles and the air intake grille on the bottom of the appliance must not be obstructed. The appliance should be positioned so that the plug and outlet are easily accessible.
"Easy Wheel" System:
To prepare for use, turn the radiator upside down on a rug or soft surface to protect the paint finish. Fully unfold the wheels by turning them outwards, then return the radiator to its upright position.
Power Connection:
Before plugging in, ensure the supply voltage matches the rating label and that the power socket and supply line correspond to the specified load. The appliance complies with directive 2004/108/ec on electromagnetic compatibility. When plugged in, the appliance enters standby mode, indicated by the symbol on the display. After a power interruption, the unit will always return to standby.
Heating Function:
To turn the appliance on, press the on-standby button (B). The power button (E) allows selection of three power levels: MIN (one wave symbol), MED (two wave symbols), and MAX (three wave symbols). The desired temperature can be set using the increase (+) and decrease (-) buttons (C and D). Each press adjusts the temperature by 1°C. Holding these buttons down will rapidly change the value. The appliance allows temperature settings from 5°C to 28°C.
Anti-freeze Function:
Setting the temperature to 5°C using the "-" button activates the Antifreeze function, indicated by a snowflake (*) symbol on the display. In this mode, the appliance will automatically turn on at maximum power only if the room temperature falls below 5°C. To return to the Heating function, press the "+" button once.
Eco Function:
Pressing the "ECO" button (F) activates the Eco function. In this mode, the appliance automatically selects the most appropriate power level (MAX-MED-MIN-OFF) to maintain optimum comfort while reducing energy consumption. If the selected temperature is much higher than the actual room temperature, the appliance will rapidly heat the room. The display will show the "eco" symbol.
Working Indicator:
The heating status is indicated by wave symbols (SSS) on the display, which change color:
- RED SSS: Maximum heating power.
- ORANGE SSS: Medium heating power.
- GREEN SSS: Minimum heating power.
- Absent SSS: Not heating.
Key Lock:
To prevent accidental operation, the keyboard can be locked. While the appliance is on, press and hold the "+" and "-" buttons together for at least 3 seconds. The display will show a lock symbol, and two short beeps will be emitted. To deactivate, repeat the same action.
Timer Function:
The timer function can be used in two ways:
- Delayed Start: With the appliance in standby mode, press the timer button (G). The display will show the hours remaining before the appliance turns on, along with a clock symbol and a flashing "h". Use the "+" and "-" buttons to set the desired delay (from 0.5 to 24 hours). After a few seconds, the program is stored, the display returns to off, and the clock symbol remains on. The appliance will turn on with the previous settings once the programmed time elapses.
- Delayed Stop: With the appliance on, press the timer button (G). The display will show the hours remaining before the appliance switches to standby mode, along with the power level, clock symbol, and flashing "h". Use the "+" and "-" buttons to set the desired delay. After a few seconds, the program is stored, and the current settings and clock symbol are displayed. The appliance will automatically switch to standby mode at the end of the set time. To cancel the timer, press the timer button twice; the clock symbol will disappear.
Change of Temperature Scale:
The display can show temperature in either °F or °C. To change the scale, when the unit is in standby, press and hold the "+" and "ECO" keys for at least 10 seconds, then release. Two short beeps will confirm the change.
Brightness of the Display:
The display has two brightness settings. The highest brightness is active when any key is pressed. After a few seconds of inactivity, the brightness decreases to the operating level. This lower level can be adjusted by pressing the ECO button for 5 seconds while the appliance is on. The display will show "LO". Use the "+" and "-" buttons to select one of three available brightness levels. After 5 seconds without a button press, the selected brightness level is memorized, and the operating conditions revert to the previously set ones.
Alarms:
The appliance has a diagnostic system to signal malfunctions:
- PF (Probe Failure) blinking: Indicates a sensor failure. The appliance will not operate. Contact De'Longhi Customer Service.
- HE (High temperature) blinking: Indicates the product's internal temperature is too high. The heating power will progressively and automatically reduce. Check that the unit is not covered and allow it to cool down.
- Square symbol (Tos alarm) blinking: Indicates the tip-over switch has activated, meaning the appliance may be tipped over or improperly positioned. Ensure the appliance is standing upright on a flat surface.
Maintenance Features
Cleaning:
Always remove the plug from the power outlet and allow the radiator to cool before cleaning. Wipe the radiator with a soft damp cloth. Do not use detergents or abrasives, as these can damage the finish.
