Setting the Thermostatic Mixing Valve
The thermostatic mixing valve controls
the outlet hot water temperature deliv-
ered to the faucets.
POTENTIAL SCALD HAZARD The
mixing valve must be installed on the
PERFORMANCE. Removal of the mix-
ing valve will create a potential scald
hazard resulting in severe personal
injury or death.
- Use a L-Key to remove the set screw
securing the knob to the valve.
- Remove the knob and lock ring from
the valve.
- Replace the knob and adjust the set
temperature of the valve to the desired
temperature.
To calibrate the outlet temperature,
allow the water to run for approximately
2 minutes and measure the water with a
thermometer. To adjust the valve setting,
rotate the knob clockwise to decrease the
water temperature or counter-clockwise
to increase the water temperature.
- Once the desired temperature is
achieved, remove the knob and refit the
lock ring onto the valve aligning the
ring indicator mark with the valve’s
“Mix” marking.
- Locate the tab on the inner face of the
knob into the retainer in the locking
ring. Secure the knob with setscrew.
- Record the valve performance on the
Installation Record included in this
manual.
For proper operation of the thermostatic
mixing valve, the manual valve on the U-
tube assembly MUST remain open to
avoid a potential scald hazard.
