Usage Features

  • Firmware Requirement: The tools operate only with firmware release 4.4E and above.
  • Setup:
    • Fit the tool with a suitable fastening accessory.
    • Connect it to the power supply via a Desoutter controller.
    • Select the appropriate program on the controller.
  • Operation:
    • Hold the tool by the handle and apply it to the fastener.
    • In manual mode, the motor starts only when the trigger is operated.
    • For reverse rotation, press the reverse button and apply the tool to the fastener.
  • Safety: As reaction force increases with tightening torque, ensure the tool is in perfect working order and the controller is correctly programmed to reduce injury risk from unexpected tool behavior.
  • Clamping Area (for Angle Head Nutrunners - ERAL):
    • When handled by an operator or embedded on a robot with high dynamics, it is advised to select two clamping locations instead of one.
    • Safe Clamping Locations: Preferred clamping area.
    • Other Clamping Areas: These areas may require extra clamping force and stress (due to torque reaction or operator stress), which can lower performance and reliability. Use these as secondary clamping areas or as a last option with extra care.
  • Clamping Area (for In-line Nutrunners - ERDL):
    • When handled by an operator or embedded on a robot with high dynamics, it is advised to select two clamping locations instead of one.
    • Dedicated Clamping Area: For torque reaction.
    • Preferred Clamping Area.
    • Other Clamping Areas: These areas may require extra clamping force and stress (due to torque reaction or operator stress), which can lower performance and reliability. Do not use these areas for torque reaction. Clamping on the motor should be selected as a last option with extra care.

Maintenance Features

  • Regular Inspection: The mains cable must be regularly inspected and replaced if damaged.
  • Qualified Personnel: Maintenance should only be performed by qualified personnel.
  • Safety Precautions:
    • Disconnect the tool from the power supply before any maintenance task.
    • When disassembling/reassembling, ensure the controller is switched off and the cable is disconnected.
    • Use recommended tools to prevent damage during disassembly.
    • When disassembling the handle, be careful not to pull on electric wires connected to the motor.
  • Motor Repairs: Any repairs on the motor must be carried out in Desoutter workshops.
  • Disposal: When disposing of components, lubricants, etc., ensure relevant safety procedures are carried out.
  • Assembly and Disassembly: Follow standard engineering practices and refer to the provided figures for mounting component subassemblies.
  • Recycling: This product must be recycled according to Directive 2012/19/CE (WEEE). Contact a Desoutter representative or consult the website (www.desouttertools.com) for recycling information.
  • Health Surveillance: A health surveillance program is recommended to detect early symptoms related to noise or vibration exposure, allowing for modification of management procedures to prevent future impairment.
  • Warranty:
    • Duration: 12 months from purchase date, provided usage is limited to single shift operation. If usage exceeds single shift, the warranty period is reduced proportionally.
    • Defect Resolution: Defective products (workmanship or materials) should be returned to Desoutter or its agents with a short description of the defect. Desoutter will repair or replace faulty items at its discretion.
    • Exclusions: Warranty is void for abused, misused, modified products, or those repaired with non-genuine Desoutter spare parts or by unauthorized service agents.
