The Devialet Dione functions as a high-fidelity soundbar, capable of producing grandiose, all-enveloping sound. It is designed to enhance the audio experience of televisions and other media devices, offering both shelf placement and wall-mounting options to integrate seamlessly into various home entertainment setups. The soundbar supports multiple connectivity options, including HDMI eARC/ARC, Optical (TOSLINK), Ethernet for stable network connection, Bluetooth for wireless audio streaming, AirPlay for Apple devices, and Spotify Connect for integrated music streaming.

Preparation and Installation:
- Unboxing: Upon unboxing, the product should be removed from its packaging, and the installation wedges should be placed on a flat surface. These wedges are crucial for safely handling the soundbar, especially when placing it upside down, to prevent contact between the center sphere and hard surfaces.
- Placement Options:
- On a Shelf: The Devialet Dione can be placed on a stable and flat surface in front of the TV. It's important to leave some space between the wall and the soundbar, avoid placing any objects on top, and ensure the sides are unobstructed for optimal sound dispersion.
- Wall Mounting: For wall mounting, a dedicated wall-mount guide is provided. The installation should ideally be carried out by two people. The process involves using a drilling template to mark screw locations, ensuring a minimum distance of 8.0" (20cm) between the soundbar and the bottom of the TV. After drilling and installing fasteners, adhesive pads are applied to wall notches, and the soundbar is hung. A key step in wall mounting is turning the central sphere clockwise until a "click" is heard and the Devialet logo is correctly positioned in front, which is mandatory for optimal rendering from the sphere's internal speakers in this orientation. Drilling recommendations are provided for various wall types (solid material/concrete, plasterboard, solid wood) with specific dowel and screw sizes, drilling depths, and screw head dimensions to ensure secure installation.
- Connectivity:
- Audio Connection: Users can connect the soundbar to their TV using an HDMI cable plugged into the TV's HDMI eARC/ARC port. If the TV lacks an eARC/ARC port, a TOSLINK optical cable (not included) can be used.
- Power: After connecting the audio cable, the Devialet Dione is plugged into a power outlet, and users should wait for the indicator light to stop flashing.
- App Setup: The Devialet APP, available on the App Store and Google Play, guides users through the setup process. Before listening, it's essential to check the TV's audio settings and set the audio output to HDMI eARC/ARC or Optical, depending on the cable used.
Daily Operation:
- Indicator Light: A visual indicator light provides status information.
- Devialet Button: This button allows users to switch between HDMI and Optical sources. Pressing and holding it for 7 seconds puts the device into standby mode, and any button press will exit standby.
- Volume Control: Dedicated buttons are available to lower or increase the volume.
- Play/Pause: A button to pause or resume playback.
- Bluetooth: Pressing and holding the Bluetooth button for 2 seconds enables Bluetooth pairing. The indicator light blinks blue when ready to pair. Users can then search for "Dione-XXXX" in their device's Bluetooth settings.
- AirPlay: To play via AirPlay, the Devialet Dione must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the Apple device. Users can then play an audio track, tap the AirPlay or streaming icon, and select Devialet Dione as the output speaker.
- Spotify Connect: This feature allows users to control Spotify playback using their phone, tablet, or computer. Instructions are available on spotify.com/connect.
- Disable Microphone: A button to disable the room calibration microphones.
- Reset: Pressing and holding the Play/Pause button for 6 seconds will reset the Devialet Dione.
