  If your DeWalt Air Compressor motor won't run, first check the fuse box for a blown fuse and replace it if needed, or reset the circuit breaker. Ensure you're using the correct time-delay fuse. Also, check for low voltage and use the proper extension cord. Try disconnecting other appliances or running the compressor on its own circuit. If the safety valve is defective, operate it manually by pulling the ring. If the valve continues to leak, it needs replacement.

What to do if the safety valve keeps popping off on my DeWalt D55146-CA Air Compressor?

  If the safety valve on your DeWalt Air Compressor pops off due to excessive air tank pressure, it could be due to the pressure switch not shutting off the motor when the compressor reaches the cut-out pressure or the pressure switch cut-out being set too high. Set the Mini-Switch to OFF ( 0 ), if the unit does not shut off contact a DeWALT factory service center or a DeWALT authorized service center.
