How to fix a jammed nail in my DeWalt DCN920 Nail Gun?
    • I
      iscottAug 8, 2025
A nail jam in your DeWalt Nail Gun can occur for several reasons. You might be using the wrong size or angle nails, so make sure you're using the recommended nails. Also, ensure the magazine screws are tightened with the provided wrench after clearing a jam. Sometimes, the dry fire lock out engages when only a few nails are left; loading more nails can disengage it. The material and fastener length might be too rigorous, so choose appropriate materials and fastener lengths. Check for debris in the nosepiece and clean it. Also, new tools can take 500–1000 nails for parts to mesh and wear in together, so drive shorter nails during this period if experiencing difficulty driving nails flush.

What to do if the motor does not run when trigger is depressed on my DeWalt DCN920?
    • B
      Barbara FaulknerAug 16, 2025
If the motor of your DeWalt Nail Gun doesn't run when the trigger is depressed, first check if the trigger lock is engaged and unlock it. If the tool is stalled, rotate the stall release lever. If the driver blade doesn't return, remove the battery and manually push the driver blade back. Reset the tool's internal electronics by removing the battery, waiting 3 seconds, and reinserting it. Note that the motor stopping after 5 seconds is normal operation; release and re-depress the trigger. Let the battery cool or replace it with a cool pack if the battery is hot. Allow the tool to cool down before continuing use if the tool is hot.

Why does my DeWalt DCN920 Nail Gun motor run but not fire?
    • K
      Kimberly WalkerAug 21, 2025
If your DeWalt Nail Gun's motor runs but doesn't fire, it could be due to the dry fire lock out being engaged; load nails into the magazine. Check the battery charge and replace or charge the battery if needed. If there is a jammed nail or the drive blade hasn't returned home, remove the battery, clear the jammed nail, cycle the stall release lever, manually push the driver blade if necessary, and reinsert the battery.
