Additional Safety Warnings
⢠Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the
off position before connecting to battery pack, picking up or
transporting the appliance. Unintentional switch on with the
finger on the switch can result in hazardousīsituations.
⢠Disconnect the battery pack from the appliance before making
any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing appliance.
Vacuum could be activated by the remote or a paired tool.
Unintended energising of the appliance that has the switch on
invitesīaccidents.
⢠Recharge only with the charger specified by the manufacturer.
A charger that is suitable for one type of battery pack may
create a risk of fire when used with another batteryīpack.
⢠Use appliances only with specifically designated battery packs.
Use of any other battery packs may create a risk of injury

⢠Use power tools and accessories which are connected to the
vacuum in accordance with these instructions. Use of power
tools for applications other than those indended can result in
hazardousīsituations.
⢠When battery pack is not in use, keep it away from other metal
objects, like paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws or other small
metal objects, that can make a connection from one terminal
to another. Shorting the battery terminals together may cause
burns or aīfire.
⢠Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected from the
battery; avoid contact. If contact accidentally occurs, flush
with water. If liquid contacts eyes, additionally seek medical
help. Liquid ejected from the battery may cause irritation
orīburns.
⢠Do not use a battery pack or appliance that is damaged
or modified. Damaged or modified batteries may exhibit
unpredictable behavior resulting in fire, explosion or risk
ofīinjury.
⢠Do not expose a battery pack or appliance to fire or excessive
temperature. Exposure to fire or temperature above 40ī°C may
causeīexplosion.
⢠Have servicing performed by a qualified repair person using
only identical replacement parts. This will ensure that the
safety of the product isīmaintained.
Specific Safety Rules for Dust Extractors
⢠The appliance may only be used by persons who are familiar
with it, have been trained on how to use it safely and who
understand the resultingīhazards.
⢠When picking up dust with an exposure limit value,
precautions must be taken to ensure adequate air exchange in
the room if the exhaust air from the appliance is released into
the room. Be aware of the corresponding nationalīregulations.
⢠Operator should observe any safety regulations to the material
beingīhandled.
⢠Do not use to vacuum combustible explosive materials, such
as coal, grain, or other finely divided combustibleīmaterial.
⢠Do not use the appliance to pick up liquids or wet dirt.
⢠Do not use in areas where flammable or combustible liquids
areīpresent.
⢠Do not use to vacuum hazardous, toxic or carcinogenic
materials, such as asbestos or pesticide, unless the vacuuming
of the material is specifically identified in this instruction
manual as an approvedīuse.
⢠Static shocks are possible in dry areas or when the relative
humidity of the air is low. This is only temporary and does not
affect the use of theīdustīextractor.
⢠To avoid spontaneous combustion, empty the canister after
everyīuse.
⢠Some wood contains preservatives which can be toxic. Take
extra care to prevent inhalation and skin contact when
working with these materials. Request and follow any safety
information available from your materialīsupplier.
⢠Do not use vacuum as a stepīladder.
⢠Do not place heavy objects onīdustīextractor.

Residual Risks
In spite of the application of the relevant safety regulations
and the implementation of safety devices, certain residual risks
cannot be avoided. These are:

Chargers
DeWALT chargers require no adjustment and are designed to be
as easy as possible toīoperate.
Electrical Safety
The electric motor has been designed for one voltage only.
Always check that the battery pack voltage corresponds to the
voltage on the rating plate. Also make sure that the voltage of
your charger corresponds to that of yourīmains.
Your DeWALT charger is double insulated; therefore
no earth wire isīrequired.
If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced only by
DeWALT or an authorised service organisation.
Mains Plug Replacement
(U.K.ī& Ireland Only).
If a new mains plug needs to be fitted:
⢠Safely dispose of the oldīplug.
⢠Connect the brown lead to the live terminal in theīplug.
⢠Connect the blue lead to the neutralīterminal.
