4. CHARGinG tHE bAttERiEs
For ecological and economic reasons, we recommend the use of rechargeable batteries for operating
the remote control set. These can be directly charged in the transmitter using the charging socket
and a suitable charger.
Please follow the separate operating instructions of the battery charger used (not included
in delivery) and the specifications of the battery manufacturer.
Note that, depending on the type of battery used, several complete discharge and charge cycles are
necessary before a brand new (empty) battery supplies its maximum power.
Besides, discharge the NiMH and NiCD rechargeable batteries at regular intervals, since charging a
“half-full” rechargeable battery several times can cause a so-called memory effect. This means that
the rechargeable battery loses the charged part of its capacity. This reduces the operating time of
the model or the transmitter.
Because of the memory effect, NiMH and NiCd batteries should always be fully discharged and
should not be charged even for storage.
Discharge the rechargeable batteries completely when not in use for a long time and charge them
again just before the next use.
