Overview

This document provides a comprehensive guide for the Digilock Assigned Use - Standard & Advanced Security Locks, detailing their operation, programming, and maintenance. The system primarily uses various keys and a keypad for secure access and management.

Device Description

The Digilock system is a secure locking mechanism designed for assigned use, meaning a specific user or group is assigned access to a particular lock. It integrates both standard and advanced security features, relying on a combination of physical keys and an alphanumeric keypad for operation.

Function Description

The core function of the Digilock system is to provide secure access control. It allows users to lock and unlock doors using a personalized code or a designated user key. The system also incorporates a multi-tiered management structure, enabling administrators to control access, register new keys, and manage user codes.

Key Components and Their Functions:

  • Alpha Numeric Keypad: This is the primary interface for users to enter their four-digit access codes. It features standard numeric keys (0-9) and corresponding letters (e.g., 2 abc, 3 def), along with a 'C' button for clear/cancel and an 'O' button for enter/confirm.
  • Key Insert: Located below the keypad, this slot is used for inserting various types of keys to operate or program the lock. The Digilock logo on the key must face up when inserted.
  • LED Light Usage Indicator: A small LED light provides visual feedback during operation, indicating status such as power on, successful registration, or error conditions.
  • Pull Handle: This is the physical mechanism used to open the door once the lock is disengaged.
  • Manager Bypass Key (Black): This key serves multiple management functions:
    • Management Access: Provides administrative access to the locks.
    • External Power: Can be used to provide external power in case of battery failure, ensuring the lock remains operational.
    • Registration: Each lock can register up to 25 Manager Bypass Keys.
    • Lock/Unlock: Allows the manager to lock and unlock any available lock.
  • ADA Compliant User Key (Blue): This key is designed for general users, particularly those requiring ADA compliance. It allows a user to lock and unlock a specific lock.
  • Programming Key (Yellow): This key is crucial for the initial setup and registration of other keys. On 3rd generation products, this key is red.
    • Registration: Registers Manager Override Keys to locks.
    • External Power: Provides external power in case of battery failure.
    • Limited Registration: Each lock accepts only one Programming Key.
