What to do if primer is not dropping through magazine tube on Dillon Precision Products Industrial Equipment?
    • M
      mark55Sep 23, 2025
If a Primer is not “Dropping" through the Magazine Tube, perform a single primer drop test with the Magazine Tube out of the system. Hold the Mag Tube vertically with the tip resting on a flat surface. Drop one primer into the top of the tube, shiny side down. Gently pick up the tube. The Primer should be sitting on the flat surface. If not, check the tip for damage and or burrs on the semicircular "fingers." If no damage and the primer is caught in the “fingers”, gently and very lightly open the two "fingers." Try the test again. If still unsuccessful, replace the Tip and perform the test until successful.

How to fix inconsistent powder charges with Dillon Precision Products Industrial Equipment?
    • K
      kkennedyAug 25, 2025
Inconsistent powder charges can occur for several reasons. To resolve this, consider the following: 1. Ensure the Failsafe Return Rod Blue Wing Nut is tight enough to fully retract the Powder Bar. When the handle is fully down, tighten the Blue Wing Nut until two business cards just slip between the coils of the spring. Adjust the Powder Die height to obtain full Powder Bar travel. 2. Make sure the powder has settled in the hopper by cycling more powder charges until stable. 3. Verify you are using the correct size Powder Bar for your requirements and replace it if necessary. 4. Ensure the Powder Measure is not loose on the Powder Die by tightening the clamping screws. 5. Try slowing down your cycling. 6. Check if the Small Powder Bar Spacer Plug is missing and replace it if needed.

What to do if I have scratched cases with Dillon Precision Products Industrial Equipment?
    • M
      Mary FarleyAug 26, 2025
Scratched cases can result from a few issues: * Brass residue buildup in the Size Die (even carbide) over time, especially if cases aren't cleaned well. Remove hardened brass buildup using Red 3M Scotch Brite wrapped around a wood mandrel, chucked in a drill motor, or use Sweets 7.62 Solvent, ensuring all residue is removed afterward. * Dirty brass can cause scratches. * New brass may have burrs.

Why is the handle movement difficult on my Dillon Precision Products Industrial Equipment?
    • M
      Mrs. Angela RobertsAug 27, 2025
Difficult handle movement can stem from several causes: 1. Powder or other debris may be causing a jamming of moving parts. 2. Link Arm and/or Pins may be worn or galled, so clean and relube them. 3. The Main Shaft or Wave Bearings may be worn, sticky, or dirty, so clean and lubricate with 30 wt. oil, avoiding spray lubes like WD-40. 4. The Priming System may not be aligned with the Platform/Shellplate, so realign it.

How to resolve difficult indexing on Dillon Precision Products Industrial Equipment?
    • D
      Derrick GonzalezAug 27, 2025
Difficult indexing can be caused by several factors: 1. Ensure the Shellplate Bolt is tight. 2. Check for the correct size Locator Buttons. 3. Remove any sticky gunk or debris under the Shellplate by removing the Shellplate and cleaning with alcohol. 4. Make sure the Ejector wire is not dragging on the Shellplate by adjusting the Ejector Wire height to clear the Shellplate.

How to fix erratic flaring on Dillon Precision Products Industrial Equipment?
    • S
      Sharon GonzalezSep 4, 2025
Erratic flaring (too much or too little) can be due to: 1. Variation in case length. Measure cases and trim or discard those out of spec. 2. The handle not moving all the way down on each cycle. 3. Using the wrong Powder Funnel for that caliber. 4. Improper Powder Die adjustment. 5. The Powder Measure being loose on the Powder Die.

    • C
      carly79Sep 2, 2025
Cases sticking or stuck in the Size Die can be attributed to: 1. Insufficient lubrication on the case. 2. An overpressure or "blown-out" case, indicating the case is out of spec/oversize. 3. The alcohol from Dillon Case Lube not being given enough time to evaporate.
