Vacuum System
Check Water Pump Belt Tension
Check belt every 50 hours for correct tension,
damage or wear. Replace worn belt. Tighten as
needed. See “Adjust Water Pump Belt Tension”
on page 78.
To check
1. Turn ignition to STOP and remove key.
2. Apply moderate thumb pressure to belt
between pulleys.
3. Belt is properly tensioned when deflection is
about 1/4” (5-8 mm).
