  If your Dixon Lawn Mower is hard to start, begin by checking the air filter and clean or replace it if it's dirty. Replace the spark plug if it's bad. If the battery is weak or dead, recharge or replace it. Also, replace the fuel filter if it's dirty and empty the fuel tank and refill it with fresh, clean gas if the fuel is stale. Check all wiring for any loose or damaged connections. If the carburetor is out of adjustment, see “To Adjust Carburetor” in Service Adjustments. For engine valves out of adjustment, contact an authorized service center/department.

Clean around the mandrels to open vent holes if the mower deck vent holes are clogged.
