COVID-19 Monitoring Guide: Remember to write down all % SpO2 (oxygen sat) results
1. Always follow your doctor’s instructions when different than these outlined below.
2. Check oxygen saturation every 2 hours while awake.
3. If % SpO2 is less than 92% follow instructions from your doctor, or call your doctor.
4. Beginning on day 4 of oxygen therapy, check % SpO2 on room air, not using oxygen.
5. If result is less than 90%, continue using oxygen, and repeat test the next day
6. If result is 91% or higher, walk inside home or room for 1-2 minutes without oxygen, and then retest.
• If result is 90% or lower, continue using oxygen, and repeat the test the next day.
• If result is 91% or higher, stop using oxygen, and test oxygen level every 2 hours for 12 hours, and
record time and results.
• If any result is 90% or less, continue using oxygen, and repeat testing – step #6 the next day.
• If oxygen level remains at 91% or higher, stop using oxygen, and call Hart Medical Equipment to
pick-up the oxygen. Hart Medical Equipment will request your testing results and send a notice to
your doctor.
• Hart will contact you about a pick-up of your oxygen equipment and pulse oximeter after
confirming with your doctor.
