ENTRAPMENT WARNING
Proper patient assessment and monitoring, as well as proper maintenance and use of mat-
tresses is required to reduce the risk of entrapment. Visit the FDA website at http://www.fda.
gov to learn about the risks of entrapment. Refer to the owners manuals for beds and rails for
additional product and safety information.
Mattress MUST t bed frame and bed rails snugly to reduce the risk of entrapment.

CAUTION:
After cleaning, dry the mattress without direct exposure of sunlight.
1. Remove the bedding.
2. Clean the top and bottom covers with organic cleaner or soapy water.
3. Use a standard cleaning solution, described above, to clean the top and bottom covers.
1. Remove the bedding from the mattress.
2. Measure the thickness of the mattress (mattressdepth) in an uncompressed area.
3. Lay a straight edge over the compressed area of the mattress.
4. Measure the depth of the compressed area (compressiondepth).
5. Use the following formula to determine the amount of compression (compresspercentage):

3.1 Inspection
The internal and external parts of the mattress should be should be visually inspected every 3 months and in
between patients for damage and wear. Remove the mattress from service and replace all damaged parts.

6. Record the compression % calculated.
Note* Compression percentages greater than 30% may be considered defective. Proof of this data point will be needed
for any warranty claims.
As an element of the maintenance, perform a compression test as per Section 3.2."
