The DS18 BTR2D is a versatile Bluetooth® Transmitter (TX) & Receiver (RX) 2-in-1 wireless audio adapter designed to bridge the gap between Bluetooth® and non-Bluetooth® audio devices. This compact and portable device allows users to enjoy wireless audio streaming in various scenarios, offering both transmission and reception capabilities within a single unit.
In Transmission (TX) Mode, the BTR2D enables non-Bluetooth® audio sources, such as TVs, CD players, or older PCs, to wirelessly stream audio to Bluetooth®-enabled headphones or speakers. This is particularly useful for enjoying high-quality audio and HD picture synchronously, thanks to its low latency and instant sound transmission. The device can also broadcast audio output to car stereo systems in this mode. When in TX mode, the adapter will display the BT pairing name of the connected devices on its screen. Users can adjust the volume by pressing and holding the volume buttons for 2 seconds. To clear BT connection memory and search for new potential Bluetooth® devices, users can press and hold the Bluetooth® button for 2 seconds. A key feature in TX mode is the ability to pair two Bluetooth® devices simultaneously. Once one device is connected, a short press of the Bluetooth® button allows the user to search for and connect a second device from the search results, enabling shared listening experiences.
In Receiving (RX) Mode, the BTR2D transforms wired audio systems—including wired speakers, headphones, and car or home stereo systems—into Bluetooth®-enabled receivers. This allows users to stream audio wirelessly from their Bluetooth®-enabled media players, such as smartphones or tablets. Similar to TX mode, the device's screen will display the BT pairing name of the connected devices when in RX mode. Basic playback controls are available: a short press of the previous/next buttons will play the previous or next song, respectively. Volume can be adjusted by pressing and holding the volume buttons for 2 seconds. The play/pause button (►II) allows for pausing and resuming music with a short press. For incoming calls, a short press of the ►II button answers the call, while pressing and holding it for 2 seconds rejects the call. During an active call, a short press of ►II will hang up, and pressing and holding it for 2 seconds will switch to a private call. The device also supports redialing the last number by double-clicking the ►II button. To disconnect a Bluetooth® device, a short press of the Bluetooth® button is sufficient.
The BTR2D offers several user-friendly features. It supports Bluetooth® v5.0, ensuring a stable and efficient wireless connection. The device can display up to 5 Bluetooth® devices on-screen at a time, eliminating "blind connection" issues. Full duplex communication is supported, allowing for simultaneous data transmission in both directions, which means users can speak freely during a Bluetooth® call. A built-in 250mAh battery provides up to 12 hours of use, and the Type-C quick charger allows for rapid charging within 1.5 hours. The BTR2D is also suitable for in-car usage as a hands-free car kit. Switching between TX and RX modes is simple, requiring just the press of a button. The device can pair two Bluetooth® devices simultaneously, allowing users to switch between their phone and other devices to easily answer calls during playback.
Operation instructions are straightforward: to power on or off, users press and hold the ►II button for 2 seconds. Upon powering on, the BTR2D automatically enters its Bluetooth® pairing state (RX Mode) and displays "connecting BTR2D." Users can then search for "BTR2D" on their desired Bluetooth® device(s) and connect. Once connected, the screen will display "BTR2D." When switched to Transmitter Mode (TX), the product automatically searches for nearby Bluetooth® devices. Users can press the Bluetooth® button to cycle through available devices, and the connected device's name will be displayed. If a device doesn't appear, pressing and holding the Bluetooth® button for 2 seconds will initiate another search. The BTR2D features an automatic power-off function if no devices are paired within 10 minutes of being powered on, conserving battery life.
Maintenance and precautions are important for the longevity of the device. Users should avoid using the product in moist or underwater conditions, near heated or high-temperature areas, or under direct or strong sunlight. Dismantling the product without due permission is not recommended, as it may nullify the warranty. The package includes the 2-IN-1 Wireless Audio Adapter, a User Guide, a 3.5mm Audio Cable, a 3.5mm to 3.5mm metallic audio plug, and a Type-C Charging Cable, providing everything needed for immediate use.
