How to fix Dualit DPP2 that is not working?

  If your Dualit Toaster isn't working, start by checking that it's properly connected to the power supply: ensure the plug is securely in the socket and the switch is turned on. Also, if the lever isn't staying down, and the power neon is illuminated, unplug the toaster and call service centre. If the power neon is not illuminated, your plug fuse may have blown. Furthermore, the toaster may have tripped the Residual-Current Device (RCD) because of crumbs or pieces of bread stuck inside. To resolve this, unplug the toaster, let it cool, remove the crumb tray, and gently shake out any crumbs over a bin.

  If your Dualit Toaster isn't popping up the toast when finished, and the power neon remains illuminated, immediately unplug the toaster and call service centre. If not illuminated, slices thicker than 36mm will get stuck. Also, hand cut slice must be cut evenly. Using a ‘sandwich cage’ can make toasting thicker items easier.

Why is my Dualit Toaster toasting unevenly?

  Uneven toasting in your Dualit Toaster can occur if you're using different bread types and sizes at the same time; ensure the size and type of bread being toasted is the same. Also, the end elements take a little longer to warm up than the centre elements; once the toaster is at optimum operating temperature, this will no longer occur.

Why is only one side of my Dualit DPP2 Toaster toasting?

  If only one side of your bread is toasting in your Dualit Toaster, check if the bagel setting is activated; if it is, only one side will toast. Press the bagel button to cancel the setting. Remember to insert bread from the very left hand slot.

Why is my Dualit DPP2 smoking?

  If smoke is coming out of your Dualit Toaster, especially during the first few uses, it's likely normal as the elements are being conditioned and this will stop after a few uses. However, excessive smoke could mean the crumb tray is full, leading to burning crumbs or even fire, so empty it. Also, unplug the toaster, remove the crumb tray, and gently shake out any crumbs over a sink or bin.
