Always implement the precautions and
follow the procedures set out in these
instructions.
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
Before starting any maintenance or repair
procedures, make sure that the engine is
switched off. This eliminates several potential
risks:
- The risk of carbon monoxide poisoning by
exhaust gases.
Make sure to arrange the corresponding
and effective ventilation whenever you
operate the engine.
- The risk of burns caused by hot parts.
Let the engine and exhaust system cool
down before touching them.
- The risk of injury caused by moving parts.
Do not start the engine unless these
instructions ask you to do so.
Read the instructions for use and make sure
that you have the tools and abilities required
to perform the specific procedure before
starting work.
Proceed carefully and only use non-
flammable solvents to clean parts, to prevent
the risk of fire or explosion. Never use petrol.
Keep parts that come into contact with petrol
a safe distance from lit cigarettes, sources of
sparks and open flames.
Remember that our company’s authorised
servicing facility knows your engine best and
is fully equipped to perform maintenance and
repairs.
In order to ensure the highest quality and
reliability, only use new original parts or their
equal substitutes for repairs and
replacements.
WARNING When handling the engine, it must be
tilted in a way to prevent the engine oil from
entering the engine cylinder, air filter or exhaust
muffler. This causes difficulty starting the engine
or destroys the air filter insert. Only tilt the engine
in a way that always keeps the spark plug at the
top.
