WHAT TO DO
AFTER A FALL
Falls cause great shocks to the
bicycle and to components, so
before you resume pedalling, check
that there is no damage caused by
the fall.
First, check:
• whether the frame does not
display any damage or cracks of any
type;
• whether the rims are still centered
in the frame and in the fork, check
this by spinning the wheel;
• whether the handlebar and the
stem are deformed or broken;
• whether the gearshift and the
derailleur work correctly with all
the ratios without coming into
contact with the spokes and make
sure the chain does not fall o;
• make sure the saddle is neither
crooked nor moving
On some components signs of
damage or failure after a shock may
not be visible. We nevertheless
recommend having them checked
by an expert before using them
again.
Don’t resume use of the bicycle if
there is even the slightest doubt
that something may have been
damaged.
