What to do if my Duraflame 9HM9126 Heater does not blow warm air?
    • S
      Stephen WilsonAug 17, 2025
If your Duraflame Heater isn't blowing warm air, it could be due to several reasons. The heater might be in a cool-down cycle, which is normal operation, and it will continue to run for several minutes with cool air before shutting down. Dirty filters can also cause this, so clean the filter gently with a vacuum. If it's not reaching the set temperature, perform a master reset: turn off and unplug the unit, hold down the main power button while plugging it back in, continue holding for 5 seconds after plugging it in, then release. Turn the unit back on; the temperature should flash 72 degrees and then display the ambient room temperature. Also, remember that the unit is designed to be used as a supplemental heat source alongside a primary heat source.

Why is my Duraflame Heater taking a long time to reach the desired room temperature?
    • E
      Erica MillerAug 22, 2025
Several factors can cause your Duraflame Heater to take longer to heat the room. Ensure the filter is clean by gently vacuuming it. Remember that this heater is designed as a supplemental heat source to be used along with a primary heat source. Position the unit on an inside wall with proper insulation. The back and sides of the heater should be more than 6 inches away from objects to ensure proper air intake. Avoid using a surge protector or extension cord; plug the unit directly into the wall outlet. The heater provides supplemental heating for up to 1000 sq/ft in conjunction with a primary heat source.

How to fix a Duraflame 9HM9126 remote control that is not working?
    • D
      David HullAug 28, 2025
If your Duraflame Heater remote control isn't working, first change the remote batteries. If that doesn't work, operate the remote transmitter at a slow, measured pace, pressing the buttons with an even motion and gentle pressure, as rapidly pressing buttons may cause it to malfunction. Ensure you are within 20 feet of the front of the appliance and pointing the remote at the control panel.

What to do if my Duraflame 9HM9126 Heater display shows blank?
    • K
      Kathryn FisherSep 3, 2025
If your Duraflame Heater's display is blank, there are several potential causes. First, the thermostat sensor might be broken or disconnected. To address this, unplug the fireplace, remove the back panel, and ensure the thermostat is properly plugged into the main circuit board. If the problem persists, contact customer service to request a replacement thermostat sensor. Also, check your heater cord and plug connections, as faulty connections or loose plugs can lead to overheating. Ensure the plug fits tightly into the outlet. If the outlet or faceplate becomes hot during use, discontinue using the heater and consult a qualified electrician to inspect and replace any faulty outlets.

The Duraflame Heater may turn on randomly due to the ambient room temperature scan feature. This is normal operation; the unit will periodically run to test the air temperature, running for 3 minutes of cool air and 3 minutes of warm air.
