Overview

The E-GLIDE D150 is an electric scooter designed for personal transportation. This manual outlines its features, operation, maintenance, and warranty information to ensure safe and effective use.

Function Description

The E-GLIDE D150 is an electric scooter that provides an eco-friendly and convenient mode of transport. It is equipped with a motor that allows for propelled movement, controlled via a throttle. The scooter features a robust frame, a handlebar for steering, and a deck for the rider to stand on. It is designed for single-person use and is suitable for various terrains, including cement, asphalt, and flat dirt roads. The scooter's electrical system includes a battery, a controller, and a display that provides essential information to the rider.

Usage Features

The E-GLIDE D150 offers a range of features to enhance the riding experience:

  • Basic Operation:
    • Power On/Off: The scooter is turned on by a long press of the power button (2 seconds) and turned off by holding the button for 2 seconds.
    • Headlight Control: The headlight can be turned on and off with a single click of the power/headlight button.
    • Battery Indicator: A battery indicator on the control panel shows the current charge level. It's crucial to charge the battery immediately if the indicator turns orange, signifying a low charge.
    • Speed Display: The control panel displays the current speed in km/h.
    • Drive Modes: The scooter supports different drive modes:
      • Dual Drive: Engages both front and rear wheels for maximum power.
      • Front Wheel Drive (FWD): Uses only the front wheel for propulsion.
      • Rear Wheel Drive (RWD): Uses only the rear wheel for propulsion.
      • The drive mode can be switched by long-pressing a dedicated button.
    • Speed Levels: The scooter has two speed levels (Level 1L and Level 2), which can be toggled by clicking a specific button.
  • Assembly:
    • Assembly involves securing the steerer tube, flicking down the kickstand, installing the handlebar, and locking the screws on both sides with a hex wrench.
    • After assembly, the scooter's power can be tested using the on/off button.
  • Charging:
    • Charging is initiated by opening the rubber plug, inserting the charging plug, and waiting until the charger light turns from red to green, indicating a full charge.
    • The rubber plug should be tightened after charging to protect the port.
  • Riding Safety:
    • Riders are advised to always wear safety gear, including a helmet and knee/elbow pads.
    • It is important to obey local traffic laws and be courteous to other road users.
    • Starting: To start riding, stand on the pedal with one foot and push off with the other. Once the scooter is gliding (at least 3km/h), place the other foot on the pedal and maintain balance.
    • Acceleration: Gently hit the throttle to accelerate.
    • Braking: To slow down, release the accelerator/throttle. For emergency braking, firmly grasp the front brake handle on the left handlebar.
    • Turning: Lean the body slightly in the desired direction and slowly turn the handle.
    • Cautions: Do not ride in the rain or on wet surfaces, as this can damage the scooter and is dangerous. The scooter is designed for one rider only.
  • Folding and Carrying:
    • Folding: Ensure the power is off. Hold the tube, open the folding button, locate the folding hook, and fix it to the rear fender.
    • Opening: Press the folding hook, then hold the steerer tube and lock the folding button.
    • Carrying: After folding, the scooter can be carried with one or both hands by holding the tube. It is important not to carry it by handling the rear mudguard.

Maintenance Features

Proper maintenance is essential for the longevity and performance of the E-GLIDE D150:

  • Cleaning and Storage:
    • Cleaning: Use a soft cloth to clean the scooter. Avoid using a hose or getting the scooter wet, as water ingress can damage the electrics. Do not use alcohol, gasoline, kerosene, or other corrosive chemical solutions for cleaning.
    • Storage: Store the scooter in a cool, dry place when not in use. Avoid direct sunlight or outdoor storage where rain or other weather conditions could damage the scooter.
  • Battery Maintenance:
    • Battery Type: Only use the battery supplied by the manufacturer. Do not install any other battery.
    • Handling: Do not dismantle or puncture the battery.
    • Charging: Use only the original charger.
    • Prolonging Life: Fully charge the battery after each use to prolong its life.
    • Temperature: Do not expose the battery to temperatures higher than 50°C or lower than -20°C.
    • Long-Term Storage: If storing for longer than 30 days, fully charge the battery first. The battery must be fully charged every 60 days during storage.
  • Warranty Information:
    • The scooter comes with a warranty covering various parts for specific periods (e.g., motor and controller for 12 months, display/throttle, charger, battery, and frame/body for 3-6 months).
    • Warranty claims require proof of purchase and should be directed to the retailer.
    • Warranty Void Conditions: The warranty will be void if damage is caused by:
      • Failure to regularly service or maintain the scooter (e.g., tyres, brakes).
      • Misuse, traffic accidents, or collisions.
      • Environmental factors like rain or excessive sunlight.
      • Riding on rough/uneven surfaces or performing stunts.
      • Unauthorized modifications or tampering.
      • Malice or rough intent.
      • Battery overheating or storage outside recommended temperature parameters.
      • Water ingress into any part of the scooter.
