Overview

This document serves as a comprehensive user manual for the e-NOVA PPNB2201 electric bicycle, providing essential information on its function, usage, and maintenance. The e-bike is designed for consumer use, offering an assisted riding experience while also allowing for traditional pedaling.

The e-NOVA electric bicycle is equipped with an electrical system that provides pedal-eclectic assistance, meaning it can be ridden with or without electrical assistance, relying solely on muscular force when desired. This flexibility allows riders to choose their preferred level of effort and conserve battery power when appropriate. The electrical system is integral to the e-bike's function, enabling riders to cover longer distances or tackle challenging terrains with greater ease.

Usage Features:

Before riding, it is crucial to perform several safety checks to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience. Always read the instruction manual thoroughly and adhere to all safety instructions, especially those concerning electrical safety. Traffic regulations must always be obeyed. It is recommended to wear a bicycle helmet whenever riding. Before each use, check the bicycle brakes for proper function, keeping in mind that braking distance can be extended in wet or icy conditions. Regularly check the tire pressure; the correct inflation pressure is 3.5 bar. Incorrect tire pressure can lead to tire damage and significantly shorten the operating distance.

The e-bike features a throttle for acceleration. If a throttle lever is mounted on the handlebar, riders should avoid dangerous, unplanned acceleration by keeping their hand away from the throttle when not in use. For safe operation, always turn off the bike battery ignition key and the control unit's On/Off button after each use.

During riding, when ready to go, and using the throttle grip, the bike will accelerate forward. Do not switch on the bike before you are prepared to ride. When releasing the throttle or braking, the power supply to the motor is immediately cut off. When starting to move or ascending a hill, pedaling as much as possible is recommended to save battery life and extend the life of both the battery and the engine. When going downhill, do not turn off the power wheel, as this can damage the engine control unit. If the battery runs out during a ride, the e-bike can be pedaled like a normal bicycle; the battery should be recharged as soon as possible. Always turn off the ignition and remove the key when stopping. Taking proper care of the wheel will extend its working life.

The e-NOVA features height-adjustable seat tube and handlebar stem, allowing riders to customize the fit for different lengths. To adjust the saddle and handlebar stem height, first open the stem/saddle lock lever. Adjust to the desired height, ensuring not to exceed the safety limit indication marked on the tubes, as failure to do so can lead to serious personal injury. Once adjusted, attach the lock lever firmly in place. When seated on the saddle, your heels should just touch the pedal when it is in its lowest position. When cycling correctly, your knee should be slightly bent, and the pedal should be in its lowest position. The angle of the saddle can also be adjusted by loosening the screw below the saddle, positioning it, and then tightening the screw.

The pedals are marked for left and right. The left pedal is installed on the crank side, and the right pedal on the chain side. Use a 15# open-end wrench to lock the pedals; the left pedal is locked in a counterclockwise direction, and the right pedal in a clockwise direction. Ensure the pedals are securely locked.

The e-bike is equipped with a headlight, bell, shifter, LCD display, and throttle. The headlight button controls the front light. The display is activated by a long press of the "M" button. Rotating the throttle will propel the e-bike forward.

Battery and Charging:

The battery is a critical component of the e-NOVA. When charging the battery, do not touch the battery terminals and prevent them from coming into contact with metal or other conductive objects. Always charge the battery in a safe place, away from children. Only use the supplied AC charger. Never open, repair, or modify the charger or battery yourself. Prevent liquids, metal objects, or metal chips from entering the charger. Avoid shocks and dropping the charger. Do not cover the charger during the charging process, as it heats up. If any strange odor or overheating is noticed during charging, stop immediately. To prevent premature destruction, recharge and drain the battery at least once a month. Do not let the battery run nearly empty; always recharge it fully before each use. Battery capacity may be reduced in cold weather, which is normal. Avoid water or other liquids when charging. Do not leave the charger connected for more than 10 hours. Always use the battery and AC charger according to instructions.

The battery can be charged either disconnected from the bike or while fixed to it. To charge, pull out the charging connector cover, then connect the AC charger to the charging plug and an AC outlet.

To remove the battery, push the sliding lock on the left side of the frame to unlock it. Turn the key on the right side of the frame to release the battery. While holding the battery, remove it. When locking the battery, ensure it is properly secured.

Maintenance Features:

Regular maintenance is essential for the longevity and safe operation of your e-NOVA e-bike. Before each ride, check that the stem and handlebars are securely tightened, along with all bolts, nuts, and fasteners, paying special attention to the engine mounts, foot, front fork, and handlebar mounts. Ensure the brakes and brake levers are working properly, and that all reflectors and lights are in place and operational. Verify that the battery is fully charged by checking the charge level on the control unit's LED display.

Do not attempt to open the battery casing, motor, or control unit, as this can result in personal injury and void the warranty. For any difficulties, contact the manufacturer or dealer.

Ensure the tire surface is tightened. The bike is equipped with a derailleur that automatically tightens the chain. If the chain starts to slacken continuously or the front chainring jumps, you can easily tighten the chain by first loosening the rear axle nuts slightly, then tightening the bolts. Make sure the chain rotates freely before tightening the rear axle nuts back on. If you are unsure how to perform this maintenance, take the bike for service.

In case of issues such as low top speed, the engine not working, or shortened range, solutions include fully charging the battery, reinstalling it, checking tire pressures, or replacing the battery or charger if necessary. If the bike works only with the throttle, the controller, motor, or pedal sensor may need replacement. If the throttle is unresponsive, check the battery charge level and recharge fully, or replace the control unit/motor. If the cycle moves by itself, check that the throttle is not jammed and lubricate or replace the throttle grip. If the cycle does not start after stopping, ensure the brake lever is fully released. If the charger's signal light does not illuminate, ensure it is receiving power. If the charger is connected but the battery is not fully charged, check that the charger is properly connected. For any problems not resolved by these steps, contact customer support.

The appliance and its accessories must not be disposed of with normal household waste at the end of its life cycle. If you need to change the bike battery, take it to either the retailer or a local recycling disposal company.
