INTRODUCTION

MOUNTING - DISPLAY UNIT

Install the Z-9500 in any convenient location, provided there is clearance behind the unit when it is tilted for the best viewing angle.

POWER CONNECTIONS

The Z-9500 works from a twelve-volt battery system only. You can attach the power cable to an accessory or power buss.

SONAR OPERATION

AUTOMATIC

When the Z-9500 is first turned on, the Automatic feature is enabled. It adjusts sensitivity and range for optimal bottom signal display.

SENSITIVITY

Controls the unit's ability to pick up echoes. Adjust sensitivity to balance detail with screen clutter from noise.

ZOOM

ZOOM - BOTTOM TRACK

SONAR ALARMS

Zone Alarm

Triggers an alarm when echoes appear within a defined bar on the screen. Alerts on fish, structure, or bottom echoes.

Bottom Alarm

Sounds an alarm when the bottom signal goes shallower or deeper than the set point. Useful for anchor watch.

Shallow Alarm

A type of Bottom Alarm that sounds when the bottom signal goes shallower than the set point.

Fish Alarm

Sounds a tone when the Fish ID feature displays a fish symbol. Uses different tones for different fish symbol sizes.

Displays the bottom depth at the top left of the screen. Shows depth in feet, fathoms, or meters.

Calibrates the speedometer display to accurately show the boat's speed using a measured mile or known speed.
