Overview

This document describes the ECRL10B remote controller for an EAS ELECTRIC air conditioning unit.

Function Description

The ECRL10B remote controller allows users to manage various functions of their air conditioning unit. It supports basic operations such as turning the unit on/off, adjusting temperature, and selecting operating modes (AUTO, COOL, DRY, HEAT, FAN). Advanced functions include setting timers, controlling airflow direction (swing), activating energy-saving modes (ECO/GEAR), and enabling special features like "Breeze Away," "Fresh," "Sleep," "Follow Me," "AP Mode," "Clean," "LED," "Turbo," "Silence," "FP (Freeze Protection)," and "Lock."

Important Technical Specifications

  • Model: ECRL10B
  • Rated Voltage: 3.0V (uses R03/LR03×2 dry batteries)
  • Signal Receiving Range: 8m
  • Operating Temperature: -5°C to 60°C (23°F to 140°F)
  • Temperature Range for Units: 16-30°C (60-86°F) / 20-28°C (68-82°F)
  • Timer Setting Range: 0-24 hours
  • Fan Speed Setting Range: AU - 100%

Usage Features

Quick Start Guide:

  1. Fit Batteries: Insert two R03/LR03 batteries into the remote controller.
  2. Select Mode: Press the "Mode" button to choose between AUTO, COOL, DRY, HEAT, or FAN.
  3. Select Temperature: Use the temperature up/down buttons to set the desired temperature.
  4. Select Fan Speed: Press the "Fan Speed" button to adjust the fan speed (AU-100%).
  5. Point Remote Toward Unit: Ensure the remote is pointed towards the air conditioning unit.
  6. Press Power Button: Press "ON/OFF" to start the unit.

Basic Functions:

  • ON/OFF: Turns the unit on or off.
  • TEMP (Temperature Adjustment): Increases or decreases temperature in 1°C (1°F) increments. The maximum temperature is 30°C (86°F), and the minimum is 16°C (60°F). Pressing both temperature buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds alternates between °C and °F.
  • MODE: Cycles through AUTO, COOL, DRY, HEAT, and FAN modes. Note that HEAT mode is not supported by cooling-only appliances.
  • FAN SPEED: Selects fan speeds from AU, 20%, 40%, 60%, 80%, to 100%. Fan speed can also be increased/decreased in 1% increments using the temperature buttons. Fan speed cannot be adjusted in AUTO or DRY mode.
  • SWING: Starts and stops the horizontal louver movement. Holding for 2 seconds initiates vertical louver auto swing.
  • SET: Allows selection of advanced functions such as Fresh, Sleep, Follow Me, and AP Mode. The selected symbol flashes, and "OK" confirms the selection.
  • OK: Confirms selected functions.
  • TIMER: Sets the timer to turn the unit on or off.
  • SHORTCUT: Restores current settings or resumes previous settings. Holding for more than 2 seconds restores current operating mode, temperature, fan speed, and sleep feature.
  • CLEAN: Starts/stops the Self Clean or Active Clean function (model dependent).
  • LED: Turns the indoor unit's LED display and buzzer on/off, creating a comfortable and quiet environment.
  • TURBO: Enables the unit to reach the preset temperature in the shortest possible time.

Advanced Functions:

  • TIMER ON/OFF: Set the time for the unit to automatically turn on/off. Time increases in 30-minute increments up to 10 hours, then in 1-hour increments up to 24 hours. Setting the timer to 0.0h cancels the function.
  • SWING (Airflow Direction): The horizontal louver moves automatically. Pressing "SWING" again stops it. Holding "SWING" for more than 2 seconds activates the vertical louver swing. Continuous pressing of "SWING" allows setting five different airflow directions.
  • DISPLAY LED: Pressing "LED" turns the indoor unit's display on/off. Holding "LED" for more than 5 seconds displays the actual room temperature; pressing again for more than 5 seconds reverts to the setting temperature.
  • ECO/GEAR Function (Energy Efficient Mode): Available only in COOL mode. Cycles through ECO, GEAR(75%), GEAR(50%), and previous setting mode.
    • ECO: Automatically adjusts temperature to 24°C/75°F and fan speed to Auto to save energy (if the set temperature is below 24°C/75°F). If the set temperature is above 24°C/75°F, only the fan speed changes to Auto.
    • GEAR: Limits electrical energy consumption to 75% or 50%. The remote display alternates between electrical energy consumption and set temperature.
  • SILENCE Function: Hold "FAN" for more than 2 seconds to activate/disable. Reduces compressor frequency, which may affect cooling/heating capacity. Can be canceled by pressing ON/OFF, Mode, Sleep, Turbo, or Clean.
  • FP (Freeze Protection) Function: For heat pump air conditioners only. Press "FP" twice within one second in HEAT mode (with setting temperature 16°C/60°F or 20°C/68°F) to activate. The unit operates at high fan speed with temperature set to 8°C/46°F. Can be canceled by pressing On/Off, Sleep, Mode, Fan, or Temp.
  • LOCK Function: Hold "Clean" and "Turbo" simultaneously for more than 5 seconds to activate. All buttons become unresponsive except for pressing these two buttons again for 2 seconds to disable locking.
  • Breeze Away Function: Prevents direct airflow on the body, providing a silky coolness. Available in Cool, Fan, and Dry modes only.
  • FRESH Function: Activates the ionizer/plasma dust collector (model dependent) to remove pollen and air impurities.
  • Sleep Function: Decreases energy consumption during sleep. Only activated via remote control. Not available in FAN or DRY modes.
  • Follow Me Function: The remote measures the temperature at its current location and sends this signal to the air conditioner every 3 minutes. This optimizes temperature around the user in AUTO, COOL, or HEAT modes. Holding "Turbo" for 7 seconds activates/deactivates memory for this function.
  • AP Mode Function: Used for wireless network configuration via WiFi. For some units, it's activated by continuously pressing "LED" seven times in 10 seconds.

Maintenance Features

  • Battery Replacement: Slide the back cover, insert batteries matching (+) and (-) symbols, and replace the cover.
  • Battery Notes: Do not mix old and new batteries or different types. Remove batteries if the remote will not be used for more than 2 months.
  • Battery Disposal: Dispose of batteries according to local regulations, not as unsorted municipal waste.
  • Louver Cleaning: When the unit is off, press and hold "MODE" and "SWING" together for one second to open the louver to a cleaning angle. Press and hold "MODE" and "SWING" again for one second to reset the louver.
