Overview

This document provides operating instructions for the ET3501/3502/3503/3505/3510 series of LCR digital electric bridges, manufactured by Hangzhou Zhongchuang Electronics Co., Ltd.

Function Description

The ET35 series LCR digital electric bridges are designed for precise measurement of impedance components. They offer a comprehensive range of features for various testing scenarios, including basic measurements, system configuration, data saving and recall, and performance testing. The devices are capable of dual measurement display and can perform measurements in absolute form or based on reference value deviation. A key feature is the built-in comparator function, which allows for classification of components into up to nine BIN levels (BIN1 to BIN8 and OUT OF BIN, plus an auxiliary BIN). This makes the ET35 series suitable for automated testing and sorting on production lines, especially when integrated with a HANDLER interface. The instrument also supports various correction functions (open circuit, short circuit, load) to minimize measurement errors caused by stray admittance, residual impedance, and cable length.

Usage Features

  • Triggering Methods: Supports INT (internal), MAN (manual), EXT (external), and BUS (bus) triggers for flexible measurement control.
  • Measurement Setup: Comprehensive setup page allows configuration of test function, DC bias, test range, frequency, offset, trigger method, test level, speed, automatic level control, delay time, output resistance, and deviation test modes (absolute and percentage).
  • Correction Functions: Open circuit, short circuit, and load corrections can be applied to compensate for errors. These corrections can be performed for all fixed frequency points or for currently set frequency points. Cable length compensation (0m, 1m, 2m, 4m) is also available.
  • Limit Table Setup: Configures the built-in comparator for BIN classification. Users can set nominal values, auxiliary levels, comparison modes (tolerance or sequential), and upper/lower limits for up to eight main parameter BINs and one auxiliary BIN.
  • List Sweep Function: Allows automatic scanning and measurement of up to 100 points for frequency, signal level, or DC bias. Supports sequential and stepping sweep modes.
  • Data Management: Users can save and recall instrument configurations and measurement results to/from internal memory or external USB memory. Measurement results can be saved as .CSV files, and screen snapshots as .PNG files.
  • System Configuration: Includes settings for language (Chinese/English), system time, buzzer function, GPIB address, Baud rate, LAN IP address (DHCP or manual), backlight intensity (32 grades), and startup self-test.
  • Self-Test: Provides four self-test modes (front panel, board, startup, system) to diagnose potential issues.
  • System Update: Supports firmware updates for the front panel, measurement motherboards, DDS, and GPIB modules via USB.
  • Handler Interface: Designed for automated component testing, providing output signals for BIN classification, measurement completion (INDEX, EOM), and alarm status. Input signals include external trigger and keylock.

Maintenance Features

  • Environment: The instrument should be used in environments free of dust, vibration, direct sunlight, or corrosive gases. Normal operating temperature is 0°C to 40°C with 15-85% humidity.
  • Preheating: A preheating time of at least 30 minutes is recommended to ensure accurate measurements. Continuous working time should not exceed 16 hours.
  • Power Connection: Ensure reliable connection to a stable power supply (220V.AC±10% or 110V.AC optional, 50Hz-60Hz) with proper grounding.
  • Fuse: The instrument is equipped with a fuse; users should use the fuse provided by the company.
  • Test Fixtures: Use only test fixtures or cables provided by the company to ensure accurate measurements. Keep them clean to maintain proper contact.
  • Storage: For long-term storage, place the instrument in its original packing box or a similar ventilated box at 0°C to 4°C with less than 85% RH, away from harmful impurities and direct sunlight.
  • Self-Correction: The device supports a self-correction function to enhance measurement accuracy by correcting internal errors.
  • Warranty: Maintenance should be conducted by qualified technicians. Unauthorized maintenance or replacement of internal components will void the warranty and may affect test accuracy. Recalibration is required after maintenance.
