Cleaning
PLEASE NOTE!
■ Make sure that the device is switched off before you do any cleaning! Pull the mains
adapter out of the mains socket and remove the batteries.
■ Do not dismantle the housing of the sewing machine.
■ Do not use corrosive or abrasive cleaning agents to clean the machine. These could
damage the surface.
• Remove any fabric fi bres and remnants that may have collected from the bobbin
compartment using a fi ne brush.
• If necessary, wipe the housing with a damp cloth and then wipe it dry.
Troubleshooting
If the device stops working properly, fi rst check whether you are able to correct the prob-
lem yourself.
Do not attempt to repair a defective electrical device yourself!
Problem Possible Cause / Solution
The machine
does not start
up.
• When using the foot control: Is the foot control not connected to the
device correctly? Is it being used incorrectly?
• Battery mode: Are the batteries inserted wrong or empty. Try using
new batteries.
• Mains power mode: Is the mains adapter not inserted in the plug
socket correctly or is its cable not connected to the device correctly?
Is the plug socket defective? Try a different plug socket. Check the
fuse of your mains connection.
The thread
rips.
• The upper / lower thread is not threaded correctly.
• The upper / lower thread is entangled.
• The upper thread tension is too high.
• The spool of thread or bobbin has not been placed on correctly.
• The needle is bent or blunt.
• The combination of needle size / thread strength / fabric is not right.
• The wrong spool has been used.
Stitches are
missed out.
• The needle has been inserted incorrectly.
• A poor needle is being used.
• The combination of needle size / thread strength / fabric is not right.
• There are fi bres or fl uff beneath the needle plate.
• The thread guidance is not correct.
• The presser foot is not pressed down.
Loop in the
seam.
• The thread tension is not correct.
• The presser foot is not pressed down.
