Exhaust system
Spark Arrestor Screen
Tools required: Torx L-wrench T27, Cleaning brush
Parts required:Spark arrestor screen, Gasket
1. Remove spark arrestor cover, deflector, gasket, and spark
arrestor screen from silencer. Replace screen if plugged
with carbon deposits.
2. Install spark arrestor screen, gaskets, and cover.
3. Tighten all bolts and screws securely.
Cylinder Exhaust Port
1. Spark arrestor screen
3. Exhaust deflector
2. Gasket
4. Spark arrestor cover
IMPORTANT
Carbon deposits in silencer will cause a drop in engine output
and overheating. Spark arrestor screen must be checked peri-
odically.
NOTE
When cleaning carbon deposits, be careful not to damage the
catalytic element inside silencer.
IMPORTANT
The cylinder exhaust port must be inspected and cleaned of ex-
cess carbon every 3 months or 90 hours of operation in order
to maintain this engine within the emissions durability period.
ECHO strongly recommends that you return your unit to your
ECHO dealer for this important maintenance service.
