There are several reasons why your Echo Trimmer might be hard to start. It could be due to a clogged fuel strainer or fuel line, which you should clean or replace. Alternatively, the fuel mixture might be too rich; in this case, open the choke, clean or replace the air filter, or adjust the carburetor. Ensure the stop switch is turned to ON. Also check the spark plug gap and adjust it to 0.65mm (0.026in.), or clean/replace the spark plug if it's covered with carbon or fouled with fuel. If the problem persists, it could be an electrical problem, interlock switch issue or carburetor problem, and you should seek assistance from your Echo dealer.

What to do if my Echo Trimmer engine runs, but dies?

If your Echo Trimmer engine runs but dies or does not accelerate properly, several factors could be responsible. A dirty air filter, fuel filter, or a plugged fuel vent can cause these issues; clean or replace these components as needed. Also, a dirty or worn spark plug can be the culprit; clean, adjust, or replace it. Improper carburetor adjustment or a dirty/plugged cooling system might also be the cause, so adjust the carburetor and clean the cooling system. Finally, a plugged spark arrestor screen can lead to these symptoms, so replace it.
