Step 1. Power o your HVAC system
Before doing anything else, power o your system. If your
HVAC equipment doesn’t have a master switch, go to your
circuit breaker box and turn o the breaker.
Verify that the equipment is o by attempting to adjust
the temperature with the existing thermostat.
Power off your system
