Overview

The Ecowell EAP260 is an Air Purifier designed to improve indoor air quality through a multi-stage filtration system and intelligent features. It is manufactured by Alton Industry Ltd. Group, located at 643 Innovation Drive, West Chicago, IL 60185. The device is CARB certified, meeting California ozone emissions limits, and has an EPA Est. Reg. No. 98581-CHN-1.

Function Description

The Ecowell EAP260 efficiently purifies PM2.5, smoke, pollen, VOCs, pet odor, and other pollutants from the air. It operates with a 3-stage HEPA filter system, which includes a pre-filter, a high-efficiency HEPA filter, and an activated carbon filter. The pre-filter intercepts larger particles like hair, fiber wool, and dander, and can be cleaned regularly with a vacuum cleaner. The high-efficiency HEPA filter is designed to effectively filter out particles as small as 0.3 µm, including PM2.5, smoke, and pollen. The activated carbon filter, made of high-quality modified activated carbon sprayed into sponge, adsorbs and catalyzes organic pollutants in the air.

The device features a built-in PM2.5 sensor that displays the real-time PM2.5 concentration value, allowing users to monitor air quality. It offers five-speed wind settings and three operating modes: manual, intelligent (auto), and sleep. The intelligent mode automatically adjusts the air speed based on the PM2.5 value and changes the air quality indicator color accordingly. The sleep mode operates quietly with the display off after 10 seconds of no touch. Other functions include a time switch, filter replacement tips, and an atmosphere lamp.

Usage Features

The EAP260 is designed for user-friendly operation with a touch panel interface.

  • Power ON/OFF: A simple touch of the power button turns the unit on or off. When powered on, the power light turns white, and the last action key is lit. When powered off, the power light turns red, and the power icon is half lit, entering standby mode.
  • Air Speed Adjustment: In manual mode, users can cycle through five fan speeds (1-5) with each touch. The display shows the current air speed gear before reverting to the PM2.5 value display.
  • Sleep Mode: Activating sleep mode turns off other icons and the display, and the machine operates at a low fan speed. The sleep icon light turns off after 10 seconds of no touch. Any key touch wakes the device from sleep mode.
  • Child Lock: This feature can be activated by pressing the child lock key for more than 3 seconds, disabling all other keys to prevent accidental changes. Deactivating it requires pressing the same key for more than 3 seconds.
  • Auto Mode: In auto mode, the air speed is automatically adjusted based on the detected PM2.5 value. The air quality indicator changes color (Green for Excellent, Blue for Good, Yellow for Medium, Red for Bad) corresponding to PM2.5 levels (0-12, 13-35, 36-55, >55 µg/m³ respectively).
  • Timer Setting: Users can set a timed shutdown (0-12 hours) or a timed startup (0-12 hours). The timer increases by 1 hour per touch and cycles back to 0. After 3 seconds of no touch, the setting is confirmed.

Maintenance Features

  • Filter Replacement Reminder: The filter has a service life of 3000 hours, indicated by a filter life display area with multiple grids. Each grid represents 500 hours of filter life. When the remaining filter life is less than 150 hours, the filter icon light turns RED, and the filter life indicator flashes, prompting the user to replace the filter.
  • Filter Replacement Reset: After replacing the filter, the reminder can be reset by pressing the filter key for more than 3 seconds. If the filter life is less than 150 hours, the reset will also turn off the red light and flashing indicator. A forced reset can be performed by pressing the filter and auto keys simultaneously for more than 3 seconds in standby mode within 30 seconds of power-on.
  • Filter Installation/Replacement: The process involves turning the product upside down, unscrewing the base knob, removing the base, taking out the old filter, removing the plastic bag from the new filter, installing the new filter, covering the base, and tightening the knob.
  • Cleaning: Regular removal of dust from the machine body and power plug is recommended. The pre-filter can be cleaned with a vacuum cleaner. Strong corrosive detergents should be avoided when cleaning the air purifier's surface. Unplugging the adapter from the power outlet is crucial before cleaning or when the machine is not in use to prevent electric shock or fire.
  • Troubleshooting: The manual provides a list of common problems and solutions, such as issues with power, air flow, abnormal noise, and filter reminders. For unresolved issues, customers are advised to contact the after-sales service department.
