Why does my Ego Power+ PS1000 Saw not cut properly?
    • J
      Jesus LindseyAug 10, 2025
If your Ego Power+ Saw isn't cutting properly, the issue could stem from several factors related to the chain and bar. Start by checking the chain tension and adjust it by loosening the quick chain-tension adjust knob at least one turn counterclockwise first and then fully tighten it clockwise until the chain is correctly tensioned. Also, the bar and chain might be skewed and not parallel to the housing. In this case, remove the battery pack and reinstall the bar and saw chain. Other possible causes include a dull, worn, dry, or excessively stretched chain, or the chain may be installed backward or not properly seated in the bar groove. In these cases, remove the battery pack and reinstall the saw chain or replace the chain. Also, check the oil level and refill the oil tank if necessary.

If the bar and chain of your Ego Power+ Saw are running hot and smoking, it's likely due to insufficient lubrication or debris. Start by filling the bar and chain lubricant. Then, clear any debris from the guide bar groove. Finally, ensure that the chain cutters are sharp.

If the motor of your Ego Power+ Saw runs, but the chain doesn't rotate, the chain might not be engaging the drive sprocket. To fix this, remove the battery pack and reinstall the chain, ensuring that the drive links on the chain are fully seated on the sprocket.
