Protect the mains socket and mains plug against moisture and wetness. A drip
loop must be formed with the mains cable. This prevents any water running
along the cable to the mains socket, which would result in a short-circuit.
The electrical data of the appliance must match the data of the power mains.
This data is found on the type plate, the packaging and in these instructions.

Preserve the packaging for a safe future storage or transportation.
1. Open the packaging and remove the accessories.
2. Use the recessed grips to pull the device upwards and out of the packaging.
3. Ensure that the scope of delivery is complete.
4. Check all components for transport damage.
Preparing the 󰄈lter container
Removing the top part of the 󰄈lter (⌦A)
1. Open up all four fastening clips.
2. Push the fastening clips upwards
3. Lift the top part of the 󰘰lter from the 󰘰lter container by the recessed grips
Removing the 󰄈lter inserts (⌦B)
4. Type 2426 only: Remove the cover grid
from the 󰘰lter container.
5. Remove the white 󰘰lter 󰘱eece
and all 󰘰lter inserts from the 󰘰lter container.
The 󰘰lter inserts have retracted handles which can be extended upwards.
Filling the 󰄈lter inserts
6. Fill the upper 󰘰lter insert
with the EHEIM SUBSTRAT biological 󰘰lter medium
to just below
the brim (⌦C).
Make sure that you do not over󰘰ll the 󰘰lter insert and block the pipe penetration.
7. Flush the 󰘰lter medium thoroughly under running water until there is no longer any visible cloudiness
in the water.
8. Position the blue 󰘰lter mats
in the lower 󰘰lter pad
.
Inserting the 󰄈lter inserts (⌦B)
Make sure that
the pipe openings of the 󰘰lter inserts, of the white 󰘰lter 󰘱eece and of the cover grind (type 2426 only)
are positioned one above the other
the white 󰘰lter 󰘱eece is not inserted underneath the bracket of the upper 󰘰lter insert
