Installation of the suction pipe and nozzle pipe (⌦K)
1. Install the nozzle pipe with the suction cups by pressing them 󰘰rmly against a side pane. Position
the nozzle pipe so that it is approximately 1 cm beneath the surface of the water and the nozzles are
aligned parallel to the surface.
2. Fasten the suction pipe in the rear corner of the same side pane with the suction cups.
Hose installation
‧ Keep the hose lengths as short as possible in order to prevent loops and bends and minimise 󰘱ow
resistance.
‧ Place the hoses in warm water to soften them for easier installation.
1. Close the shut-o󰘯 valves. To do so, 󰘱ip the two shut-o󰘯 valves in the OFF direction (⌦N).
2. Push the hose ends as far as they will go onto the corresponding hose connecting pieces on the
hose adapter (⌦L).
You can lightly grease the hose connecting pieces with EHEIM special grease for easier installation.
3. Place the two-piece hose holder around the hoses at the level of the hose connection pieces (⌦M).
4. Connect the two parts of the holder at the side and clip them together.
5. Connect the IN end of the hose with the suction pipe.
6. Connect the OUT end of the hose with the nozzle pipe.
Commissioning
Priming
The external 󰘰lter and the hose system must be 󰘰lled with water before switching on. The EHEIM
primer (art. no. 4003540) is suitable for this purpose. Alternatively, you can also use the EHEIM instal
-
lation SET 1 (art. no. 4004300, Ø 12 mm / art. no. 4005300 Ø 16 mm).
1. Open the shut-o󰘯 valves. To do so, 󰘱ip the two shut-o󰘯 valves in the ON direction (⌦N).
2. Remove the nozzle pipe from the piece of hose (⌦O).
3. To do so, lift the outlet bend slightly.
4. Connect the primer to the piece of hose.
5. Use the primer to suction the water. The external 󰘰lter and the hose system 󰘰ll up with water
automatically.
6. Detach the primer and connect the nozzle pipe to the piece of hose again once the water circuit has
been established.
Operation
Switching on the external 󰄈lter
CAUTION! Material damage.
▶ Do not operate the external 󰘰lter without a water 󰘱ow.
1. Check all the hose connections for leaks and check that the hose holder is correctly seated.
2. Open the shut-o󰘯 valves. To do so, 󰘱ip the two shut-o󰘯 valves in the ON direction (⌦N).
3. Insert the mains plug in the mains socket. Attention: The pump starts immediately!
