Overview

This document describes the Einhell TC-BG 200 L double wheel grinder, a combination tool designed for coarse and fine grinding of metals, plastics, and other materials using appropriate grinding wheels. It is intended for use only in a fully enclosed work area on stationary grinding/sanding machines, not with hand-held machines or for wet grinding/sanding/abrasive cutting.

Function Description

The double wheel grinder is equipped with two grinding/sanding wheels (5, 6) for different grinding tasks. It features spark deflectors (3) and safety windows (2) to protect against sparks and flying debris, and workpiece supports (7) to provide stability during operation. The integrated lamp (10) illuminates the work area. The machine is designed for dry grinding/sanding only.

Important Technical Specifications

  • Mains voltage: 220-240 V ~ 50 Hz
  • Power rating: S1 185 W | S2 30 min 200 W
  • Idle speed: 2980 rpm
  • Grinding/sanding wheel max. diameter: 207 mm
  • Grinding/sanding wheel min. diameter: 173 mm
  • Grinding/sanding wheel width: 25 mm
  • Grinding/sanding wheel thickness: 25 mm
  • Grinding/sanding wheel hole ø: 32 mm
  • Peripheral speed: 31 m/s
  • Grinding/sanding wheel grit size (coarse): K36
  • Grinding/sanding wheel grit size (fine): K60
  • Protection class: I
  • Weight: approx. 12 kg
  • Sound power level LWA: 88.6 dB(A)
  • Uncertainty KWA: 3 dB(A)
  • Sound pressure level LpA: 101.6 dB(A)
  • Uncertainty KpA: 3 dB(A)

The S2 30 min power rating indicates that the motor may be operated continuously at its nominal power (200 W) for no longer than the time stipulated on the specifications label (30 minutes ON period). If you fail to observe the ON period, the motor will overheat. During the OFF period, the motor will cool again to its starting temperature.

Usage Features

  • Setup: The equipment must be set up where it can stand securely. It should be firmly screwed to a workbench or equivalent using the four mounting holes (8) in the base plate (9). All covers and safety devices must be properly fitted before switching on.
  • Spark Deflector Adjustment (Fig. 5): The spark deflector (3) can be adjusted vertically by slackening the socket head screws (11). It should be pushed as close as possible to the grinding/sanding wheel (5, 6), ensuring the distance does not exceed 2 mm. The spark deflector should be adjusted periodically to compensate for wear on the grinding/sanding wheel.
  • Workpiece Support Fitting (Fig. 6): The workpiece support (7) is fitted to the machine using a lock screw (17), washer (18), spring washer (19), and locking button (20). The angled face of the workpiece support must point away from the grinding/sanding wheel.
  • Workpiece Support Setting (Fig. 7): The workpiece support (7) can be adjusted horizontally by slackening the locking button (20). It should be pushed as close as possible to the grinding/sanding wheel, ensuring the distance does not exceed 2 mm. The workpiece support should be adjusted periodically to compensate for wear on the grinding/sanding wheel.
  • Grinding/Sanding Wheel Change (Fig. 8-12): Before changing the wheel, the power plug must be pulled out. The three screws (A) on the cover (4) are undone, and the cover is rotated to be removed. The socket head screws (11) are slackened, and the nut (B) is undone in the direction of rotation. The grinding/sanding wheel (5, 6) is removed, and the new wheel is fitted, ensuring it runs freely. The nut (B) is tightened, and the cover (4) is refitted.
  • Operation (On/Off Switch): The equipment is switched on by pressing the On/Off switch (1) to position I and off by pressing it to position 0. The lamp (10) switches on automatically with the machine.
  • Grinding/Sanding: The fine-grained grinding/sanding wheel (6) is for fine grinding/sanding work, and the coarse-grained grinding/sanding wheel (5) is for coarse grinding/sanding work. The workpiece is placed onto the workpiece support (7), and the workpiece is moved towards the grinding wheel (5, 6) at the desired angle. The workpiece is moved slightly back and forth over the entire width of the grinding wheel. The workpiece should be cooled every now and then.

Maintenance Features

  • Cleaning: The equipment should be cleaned regularly, especially after each use. Do not use cleaning agents or solvents that could attack the plastic parts. Ensure no water can seep into the interior of the machine, as this poses a risk of electric shock.
  • General Maintenance: There are no parts inside the equipment that require additional maintenance.
  • Storage: Store the equipment and accessories in a dark and dry place at above freezing temperature. The ideal storage temperature is between 5 and 30 °C. Store the electric tool in its original packaging.

Safety Precautions

  • General: Always wear ear-muffs, a breathing mask, and safety goggles. Wear gloves.
  • Damaged Grinding/Sanding Wheel: Do not use a damaged grinding/sanding wheel. Damaged plug-in tools may break into pieces that are catapulted into the surroundings.
  • Rotation Direction: Observe the direction of rotation of the grinding/sanding wheel.
  • Hand-held Machines: Do not use with hand-held machines.
  • Wet Grinding/Sanding: Do not use for wet grinding/sanding or wet abrasive cutting.
  • Enclosed Work Area: Permitted only for a fully enclosed work area.
  • Power Plug: Always pull the power plug before making adjustments, maintenance, or assembly work.
  • Spark Deflector/Workpiece Support: Ensure these are correctly fitted and adjusted to within 2 mm of the grinding wheel.
  • Vibrations: Health damage can be caused by hand-arm vibrations if the equipment is used over a prolonged period or is not properly guided and maintained.
  • Noise Emission: The noise emission values were measured in accordance with EN 62841.
  • Electrical Safety: Check that the voltage on the rating plate matches your supply voltage.
  • Overload: Do not overload the appliance.
  • Switching Off: Never switch off the appliance when it is not in use.
  • Residual Risks: Even if used correctly, some residual risks may remain. These include lung damage, hearing damage, and health damage from hand-arm vibrations.
