Place the capillary into the prefilled
micro test tube, close tight, and
shake about 10 times. The capillary
must be completely emptied and
the hemolyzing solution must be
homogenously stained.

The sample prepared in this way can be measured immediately.
The glucose and lactate concentration in hemolyzed whole blood, in
closed and not punctured micro test tubes, is stable at room temperature
for a storage period of 5 days. However, it is recommended to store the
samples in a refrigerator if possible and to measure as soon as possible.
6.2 Other sample materials
The glucose and lactate concentration can also be determined in venous
or arterial samples as well as in plasma or serum. The blood collection
systems should be prepared with suitable additives to avoid alteration of
glucose or lactate values over the time period until measurement. If the
blood vessel does not contain a glycolysis inhibitor, the sample must be
processed immediately. The blood may contain the following
anticoagulants / glycolysis inhibitors: heparin, fluoride, EDTA.
Risk of infection, wear suitable gloves!
Take out the sample tube from the fridge and allow it to warm up to
room temperature. Mix the sample carefully by repeated rotating and
rolling.
