message occurs. If a second micro test tube with standard solution is
available, this is automatically used. For a calibration, the last used
STD-position is preferably used.
7.2.2 Sample preselection
The sample preselection offers the possibility to restrict the number of
samples for measurement of the sample tray. Thereby, it is possible to
select a range or only a single sample.
If the function is activated in the device menu (see section 9.3.5, page
35) a special dialogue will appear after pressing the Start Button, where
the selected range for measurement can be entered.

The start value or end value can be selected by touching the according
area and changed by using the figure field. Pressing the OK Button
starts the measurement. If you break off the dialogue the device will
return to the Ready mode.
If the function sample preselection is not activated, the dialogue does
not appear and the whole sample series will be measured.
7.2.3 Adjustment whole blood glucose/plasma glucose (optional)
The devices of the Biosen-family are measuring glucose in various
sample materials such as whole blood, serum and plasma. At default
settings, the measured glucose concentration of the respective material
is displayed. Based on the different content of water respectively solids,
the measurement result from serum/plasma is about 11% higher than
from whole blood (refer to section 15.1, page 52).
