Overview

This document is an owner's manual for an electric dryer, providing comprehensive information on its operation, installation, maintenance, and safety.

Function Description:

The device is an electric clothes dryer designed to dry laundry. It offers various drying cycles and temperature settings to accommodate different fabric types and load sizes. The dryer operates by tumbling clothes in a heated drum, with an exhaust system to vent moist air outdoors. It includes features like automatic drying cycles, a timed dry option, and a cool-down period to reduce wrinkling. The door is reversible for flexible installation.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Power Supply: 240 volt, single phase, 60 Hz, Alternating Current.
  • Circuit: Individual 30 amp branch circuit fused with 30 amp time delay fuses or circuit breakers.
  • Power Cord: Requires a 3-wire (NEMA 10-30R) or 4-wire (NEMA 14-30R) 240 volt AC minimum, 30 amp service cord kit (not supplied for USA models, factory-installed for Canada).
  • Exhaust Duct: Minimum 4 inches (10.2 cm) diameter rigid or flexible metal duct and approved vent hood with a swing-out damper(s).
  • Maximum Exhaust Duct Length: Varies based on the number of 90° turns and vent hood type (e.g., 60 ft. (18.3 m) for 0 turns with a louvered hood, 48 ft. (14.6 m) for 0 turns with a 2.5" hood). Semi-rigid venting should not exceed 8 ft. (2.4 m).
  • System Back Pressure: Must not exceed 0.75 inches of water column.
  • Minimum Installation Clearances:
    • Alcove/Closet: 0" (0 cm) sides, 0" (0 cm) rear, 16" (40.5 cm) top.

    • AUTO COTTON / AUTO COLORS (on select models): Automatically determines drying time. High heat for cotton, Medium heat for permanent press, Low heat for knits and delicates.
    • TIMED DRY: Provides up to 70 minutes (or 100 minutes on select models) of drying time. Perm Press setting (30-40 minutes) for permanent press items.
  • Temperature Settings: High heat, Medium heat, Low heat, and Air Fluff/No Heat. Air Fluff/No Heat tumbles without heat for freshening or dusting.
  • End of Cycle Signal: Sounds at the end of the cycle and periodically during Wrinkle Free/Press Saver (some models) if selected.
  • Wrinkle Free/Press Saver (on select models): Unheated tumbling continues for approximately 30 minutes to reduce wrinkling, with a signal every 5 minutes.
  • Loading: Load items loosely, filling the drum 1/3 to 1/2 full for even drying and less wrinkling. Add two or three similar items for delicate or very small loads to improve tumbling.
  • Adding/Removing Items: Dryer stops when the door is opened; close door and press Start to resume.

Maintenance Features:

  • Lint Filter: Must be cleaned before or after every load. Located at the bottom of the door opening. Waxy build-up can be removed by washing with warm, soapy water.
  • Dryer Interior/Exhaust Duct: Should be cleaned approximately every 18 months by qualified service personnel to prevent lint build-up and potential fire hazard.
  • Drum Cleaning: If stained by noncolorfast fabrics, clean with a damp cloth and mild liquid household cleanser.
