Overview

This document is a Use & Care Manual for an Electrolux dishwasher, designed to make life a little easier.

Function Description:

The Electrolux dishwasher is an appliance designed to automatically clean dishes, cutlery, and cookware. It operates by filling with a small amount of water, heating it, dissolving detergent, and then pumping the solution through spray arms to remove soil from items. A final rinse, often at high temperatures with rinse aid, ensures thorough cleaning and aids in drying. The dishwasher incorporates Smart Sensor technology in its "Auto" program to detect the load size and soil level, optimizing wash cycles for minimum energy and water consumption. It offers various wash programs tailored for different soil levels and item types, along with options to enhance wash and dry performance.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Water Usage: Varies by program, ranging from 5 liters for "Rinse" to 14-24 liters for "Auto" and 24 liters for "Heavy."
  • Cycle Duration: Approximate times vary based on selected options and water temperature. For "Auto," it ranges from 85-108 minutes (hot water) to 91-108 minutes (cold water). "Heavy" is 102-105 minutes, "Normal" is 92 minutes, "Short" is 30 minutes, and "Rinse" is 12 minutes.
  • Water Temperature: The "Hi-Temp" option heats the main wash water to approximately 60°C. The "Sanitize" option heats the final rinse water to 68°C and maintains it for 9 minutes.
  • Detergent Capacity: The dispenser has compartments for 15g and 25g of powdered detergent.
  • Rinse Aid Capacity: The dispenser holds 125ml of liquid rinse aid, sufficient for 35 to 140 washes depending on the setting.
  • Filter System: Comprises a coarse/fine filter, microfilter, and a flat filter.
  • Interior Light: Some models are fitted with a maximum 15 Watt bayonet globe (no larger than 26 mm in diameter and 56 mm long).
  • Place Setting Capacity: Designed for a 12 place setting load, conforming to Australian standard AS/NZS 2007.1.

Usage Features:

  • Quick Start: A simplified process involving loading, adding detergent and rinse aid, selecting a wash program and options, then pressing START/CANCEL and closing the door.
  • Wash Program Selection:
    • Auto: Smart Sensor technology automatically senses load and soil to determine the best wash program.
    • Heavy: For heavily soiled dishes, pots, and pans; automatically selects "Hi-Temp" and "Sanitize" options.
    • Normal: For normal, everyday soiled plates; minimizes energy and water usage.
    • Short: For lightly soiled or a small number of items.
    • Rinse: A rinse-only cycle for dishes to be washed later with a full load.
  • Option Selection:
    • Hi-Temp: Heats main wash water to 60°C for better cleaning, especially with detergent tablets. Increases cycle time by approximately 11 minutes.
    • Sanitize: Heats final rinse water to 68°C for 9 minutes, ensuring sanitized dishes and optimal drying. Increases cycle time by approximately 15 minutes.
    • Delay Start: Allows delaying the wash cycle start from 1 to 24 hours.
  • Status Window: Displays information such as delay start hours, "Cd" (Close Door), "HO" (Heater On), "LO" (Rinse Aid Low), "PF" (Power Failure), and error codes for filling (10) or draining (20) issues.
  • Pause/Add/Remove Items: The cycle can be paused by slightly opening the door, waiting for wash action to stop, adding/removing items, and then closing the door to resume.
  • Adjustable Upper Basket (Easy Lift): The upper basket height can be adjusted vertically, with or without dishes, to accommodate taller items in either the upper or lower basket, providing nearly 50mm of additional height in either position.
  • Loading Flexibility:
    • Upper Basket: Designed for cups, glasses, stemware, small plates, and bowls. Includes a utensil rack for spatulas and large spoons, and cup/wine glass racks that can be positioned up or down.
    • Lower Basket: Designed for plates, saucers, bowls, and cookware. Features fold-down tines for accommodating large or hard-to-fit items, and cup/champagne glass racks.
    • Cutlery Basket: Allows placing cutlery some up, some down, and separating different materials. Sharp knives should be loaded point down for safety.
  • Detergent Use: Recommends using fresh, good quality machine dishwashing detergent. Provides guidance on detergent amounts based on water hardness and soil level. Advises against using normal hand washing up detergents due to severe foaming.
  • "3 in 1" Combi Detergent / Rinse Aid Tablets: Instructions for use, emphasizing placement in the detergent dispenser and recommending "Auto," "Heavy," or "Normal" programs with "Hi-Temp" for best results. Notes that rinse aid adjustment may still be necessary.
  • Rinse Aid Dispenser: Automatically releases rinse aid during the last rinse to improve drying and reduce spots. Adjustable dial for dosage. "LO" indicator on status window when low.

Maintenance Features:

  • Cleaning Wash Filters: Filters (coarse/fine, microfilter, flat filter) should be checked and cleaned regularly under running water. Instructions provided for removal, cleaning, and re-installation. Emphasizes not using the dishwasher without filters.
  • General Cleaning (Mark Resistant Stainless Steel): The dishwasher features a special protective coating to reduce fingerprints and water spots. For occasional cleaning of the door and controls, use a soft cloth dampened with mild soapy water, rinse, and dry. Avoid household or abrasive cleaners.
  • Light Globe Replacement: Instructions for replacing the interior light globe (if fitted), including disconnecting power, unscrewing the lens, replacing the globe (max 15 Watt bayonet, specific dimensions), and securing the lens firmly. Warns against unsafe operation if the plastic lens is not secured.
  • Descaling: Recommends using a descaler every six months in hard water conditions to reduce white film or scale buildup in the pump housing and filters.
  • Long-term Storage: If not using the dishwasher for several weeks, open the door slightly, switch off power, and turn off the water supply.
