Overview

This document is a user manual for the Electrolux KEAF7200L dishwasher, providing comprehensive information on its function, usage, and maintenance.

Function Description

The Electrolux KEAF7200L is a household dishwasher designed for cleaning crockery, cutlery, pots, and pans. It operates by spraying water and detergent onto dishes, followed by rinsing and drying phases. The appliance features a water softener system that removes minerals from the water supply, which is crucial for optimal washing results and to prevent limescale buildup. The water softener's resin needs regular regeneration, an automatic process that occurs during normal dishwasher operation. The appliance also includes a rinse aid dispenser to improve drying results and prevent streaks and stains. An AirDry function is integrated to enhance drying performance with less energy consumption by automatically opening the door during the drying phase. The dishwasher is equipped with a filter system to trap food residues, ensuring clean water circulation during the wash cycle.

Usage Features

The dishwasher offers a range of programmes tailored to different types of loads and degrees of soil, including an ECO programme for efficient water and energy consumption, and a prewash programme for quickly rinsing off food remains. Users can select programmes and adjust settings via the control panel, which includes an on/off button, programme indicators, and delay button.

Key usage features include:

  • Programme Selection: Users can choose from various programmes like ECO, 160 min, 90 min, 30 min, and a prewash option, depending on the load and soil level.
  • Water Softener Adjustment: The water softener level can be adjusted according to the local water hardness, ensuring optimal washing results and preventing limescale. The salt refill indicator notifies users when the salt container needs refilling.
  • Rinse Aid Dispenser: The rinse aid dispenser automatically releases rinse aid during the hot rinse phase to aid drying. Users can adjust the released quantity and activate/deactivate the rinse aid empty notification.
  • Detergent Dispenser: The appliance has a compartment for powder or tablet detergent. For programmes with a prewash phase, a small quantity of detergent can be placed on the inner part of the door.
  • Delay Start: The start of a programme can be delayed by 3 hours, allowing users to schedule wash cycles at their convenience.
  • AirDry Function: This feature automatically opens the door during the drying phase to improve drying results and save energy. It is activated by default for most programmes.
  • Loading Baskets: The manual provides guidance on how to load the upper and lower baskets, including the cutlery basket, to ensure effective cleaning. It emphasizes placing hollow items downwards and ensuring items do not touch or cover each other.
  • Auto Off Function: To save energy, the appliance automatically deactivates when a programme is complete or after 5 minutes if a programme was not started.
  • Acoustic Signals: The dishwasher provides acoustic signals for malfunctions and can be set to sound an acoustic signal when a programme is completed.

Maintenance Features

Regular maintenance is crucial for the dishwasher's performance and longevity. The manual outlines several maintenance tasks:

  • Filling Salt Container: Users are instructed to fill the salt container with dishwasher salt, especially when the salt indicator is on, to ensure the water softener functions correctly.
  • Filling Rinse Aid Dispenser: The rinse aid dispenser should be refilled when the rinse aid indicator is on, to maintain good drying performance.
  • Cleaning Filters: The filter system, consisting of three parts, needs regular cleaning to prevent food residues from affecting washing results. The process involves turning, removing, washing, and reassembling the filters.
  • Cleaning Spray Arms: The lower spray arm should be cleaned regularly to prevent holes from clogging, which can lead to unsatisfactory washing results. This involves pulling the spray arm upwards, washing it under running water, and using a thin pointed tool to clear any blockages.
  • External Cleaning: The appliance's exterior should be cleaned with a moist soft cloth and neutral detergents, avoiding abrasive products or solvents.
  • Internal Cleaning: The interior, including the rubber gasket of the door, should be cleaned regularly with a soft damp cloth. Using a dishwasher cleaning product at least once a month is recommended to maintain performance and prevent grease and limescale buildup, especially with frequent use of short-duration programmes.
  • Removal of Foreign Objects: After each use, users should check the filters and sump for foreign objects (e.g., glass, plastic, bones) that could decrease cleaning performance or damage the drain pump. Instructions are provided for disassembling and reassembling the filters to remove such objects.
