Overview

This document describes the Electrolux LUT6NE18C freezer, a built-in appliance designed for household and similar applications. It emphasizes safety, proper installation, and efficient use to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

Function Description

The Electrolux LUT6NE18C is a freezer compartment suitable for freezing fresh food and storing frozen and deep-frozen food for extended periods. It is designed to maintain a consistent low temperature, typically between -15°C and -24°C, with a recommended default setting of -18°C for optimal food preservation. The appliance is frost-free, meaning there is no build-up of frost on the internal walls or food during operation, eliminating the need for manual defrosting.

The freezer is equipped with a control panel that allows users to manage its functions. Key features include:

  • Temperature Regulation: Users can adjust the freezer temperature using dedicated buttons.
  • FastFreeze Function: This feature is designed for pre-freezing and fast freezing of fresh food. It accelerates the freezing process and helps protect already frozen food from warming. It activates for 52 hours automatically but can be manually deactivated.
  • DrinksChill Function: This function allows users to set an acoustic alarm for a preferred time, useful for cooling drinks quickly or as a reminder for items placed in the freezer.
  • ChildLock Function: This feature locks the control panel buttons to prevent unintentional operations.
  • Alarms: The appliance includes a high-temperature alarm, which activates if the freezer compartment temperature increases significantly (e.g., due to a power failure), and a door-open alarm, which sounds if the freezer door is left open for too long.

The appliance is also equipped with cold accumulators to increase storage time in the event of a power cut or breakdown, enhancing food safety during emergencies.

Usage Features

To ensure the best functionality and energy efficiency, several usage guidelines are provided:

  • Initial Setup: After installation or a period of disuse, the appliance should run for at least 3 hours with the FastFreeze function activated before placing food inside.
  • Freezing Fresh Food: Activate the FastFreeze function at least 24 hours before introducing fresh food. Distribute fresh food evenly in the top two compartments or drawers. The maximum amount of food that can be frozen within 24 hours is specified on the rating plate.
  • Storing Frozen Food: Maintain a temperature of -18°C or lower for optimal preservation. Leave sufficient space around food items for proper air circulation. For large quantities, drawers can be removed, except for the bottom one, to facilitate air circulation. Food should be kept at least 15 mm from the door.
  • Thawing Food: Frozen food can be thawed in the refrigerator or under cold water in a plastic bag. Small portions may be cooked directly from frozen.
  • Ice-Cube Production: The appliance comes with trays for making ice cubes. Users should fill these with water and place them in the freezer. Metallic instruments should not be used to remove ice trays.
  • Food Packaging: Always wrap and seal fresh food in aluminum foil, plastic film, bags, or airtight containers with lids before freezing. Label and date frozen food to track its shelf life.
  • Energy Saving: Avoid frequent or prolonged door openings. Ensure good ventilation by not covering grilles or holes. The internal configuration is designed for energy efficiency, and cold accumulators should not be removed from the freezer basket.
  • Safety Precautions: Do not freeze bottles or cans containing carbon dioxide, as they may explode. Cool hot food to room temperature before placing it in the freezer. Avoid re-freezing thawed food. Do not eat ice cubes or ice lollies immediately after removal to prevent frostbite.

Maintenance Features

Regular care and cleaning are essential for the appliance's hygiene and performance:

  • Cleaning the Interior: Before first use and periodically, clean the interior and all internal accessories with lukewarm water and a neutral soap. Rinse thoroughly and dry. Avoid using detergents, abrasive powders, chlorine, or oil-based cleaners, as these can damage the finish. The accessories are not suitable for dishwasher cleaning.
  • Door Seals: Regularly check and wipe the door seals clean to ensure they are free from debris and maintain an effective seal.
  • Defrosting: The freezer compartment is frost-free, so manual defrosting is not required.
  • Non-Operation Periods: If the appliance will not be used for an extended period, disconnect it from the power supply, remove all food, clean the interior and accessories, and leave the door open to prevent unpleasant smells.
  • Troubleshooting: The manual provides a troubleshooting guide for common issues like the appliance not operating, being noisy, or displaying alarms. It offers solutions such as checking the power connection, ensuring proper door closure, adjusting temperature settings, and verifying food placement. For persistent issues, contacting an Authorized Service Centre is recommended.
  • Door Reversibility: Instructions for reversing the door are provided in a separate document. During this process, the floor should be protected from scratches.
  • Spare Parts: Original spare parts, including thermostats, temperature sensors, printed circuit boards, light sources, door handles, door hinges, trays, and baskets, will be available for 7 years after the model is discontinued. Door gaskets will be available for 10 years.
