Overview

The Elementi Manchester Fire Table (Model OFG145NG) is an outdoor decorative gas appliance designed to provide warmth and ambiance. This fire table is intended for outdoor use only and operates on natural gas. It is crucial to adhere to all safety warnings and instructions to prevent property damage, personal injury, or loss of life.

Function Description:

The Manchester Fire Table serves as an outdoor heating and decorative element, producing a flame from a burner fueled by natural gas. It is designed to be used in a well-ventilated outdoor space and should never be operated indoors or in any enclosed area. The unit features an igniter for lighting the burner and a control knob to adjust the flame height. Lava rocks are used to cover the burner, enhancing the aesthetic and diffusing the flame.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Gas Type: Natural Gas only. Conversion to or attempted use of Liquid Propane is dangerous and will void the warranty.
  • Minimum Inlet Natural Gas Supply Pressure: 3.5" w.c. (0.87 kPa).
  • Maximum Inlet Natural Gas Supply Pressure: 10.5" w.c. (2.61 kPa).
  • Manifold Pressure: 7" w.c. (1.74 kPa).
  • Minimum Clearance from Unit to Combustible Materials:
    • 72" (182.9 cm) minus the height of the appliance from the top.
    • 48" (121.9 cm) from all sides and back.
  • Power Source for Igniter: AAA battery (not included).
  • Flame Height: Should not exceed 13 inches tall.
  • Construction Material: Cast concrete (finish may vary by unit, with color variance up to 15%, uneven texture, or small holes due to the hand-finished process).
  • Lava Rock Quantity: 6 kgs.
  • Compliance: ANSI Z21.97-2017 • CSA2.41-2017 Outdoor Decorative Gas Appliances Standards.

Usage Features:

  • Outdoor Use Only: This appliance must be used exclusively outdoors in a well-ventilated space.
  • Adjustable Feet: Pre-installed adjustable feet on the bottom of the fire pit allow for leveling or increasing the height of the fire table as preferred, ensuring stability and safety.
  • Natural Gas Connection: Requires a professionally installed shut-off valve between the supply piping and the quick-disconnect socket. The gas hose connects to the quick-disconnect socket, which should never be connected directly to the fire table. Pipe sealing compound or PTFE tape resistant to natural gas must be used on all male pipe threads during connection.
  • Ignition System: Features an igniter button for electronic ignition. Users push and hold the igniter button while pushing and turning the control knob to "LOW" to light the burner. If ignition fails, the control knob should be turned to "OFF," and a 5-minute wait period is required before reattempting.
  • Manual Lighting Option: If the igniter fails, the burner can be lit using a long match or butane lighter. Lava rocks must be moved aside to access the burner, and heat-resistant gloves are recommended.
  • Flame Adjustment: The control knob allows for adjustment of the flame height from "LOW" to "HIGH."
  • Emergency Shut-off: In case of a gas smell, immediately shut off the gas supply to the fire table, extinguish any open flames, and evacuate the area.
  • Safety Precautions:
    • Never leave the fire pit unattended when in use.
    • Keep children and pets at a safe distance due to high surface temperatures.
    • Do not store or use flammable vapors or liquids within 25 feet (7.62m) of the appliance.
    • Do not burn solid fuels (wood, charcoal, trash, etc.) in this fire table.
    • Do not move or store the unit until it is completely cool.
    • Do not lean over the fire table when lighting or in use.
    • Always use the provided natural gas hose and quick disconnect assembly.

Maintenance Features:

  • Regular Inspection: The fire table, including the valve compartment, burners, and circulating air passageways, must be inspected regularly (at least annually by a qualified service person) to ensure safe use and extend product life.
  • Hose Inspection: Before each use, check the hose for signs of abrasion, wear, cracks, or cuts. Damaged hoses must be replaced with manufacturer-specified parts.
  • Burner Cleaning: Before each use, remove lava rocks and inspect the burner and its components. Clean with a soft brush and soapy water solution if dirty. Remove any dirt, spider webs, or foreign material from around the burner.
  • Leak Check: A leak check solution (1-part dishwashing soap to 3 parts water) should be applied to valve connections. Bubbles indicate a leak, requiring gas shut-off, reconnection, and retesting. If bubbles persist, contact Elementi for assistance.
  • Pilot Housing Inspection: Ensure the pilot housing is unobstructed, and no debris is present between the igniter pin, thermocouple, and burner tube.
  • Electrode and Thermocouple Positioning: Verify that the electrode wires are fully inserted into the igniter box. Ensure the igniter pin is pointed straight to the thermocouple, and the thermocouple is positioned 5mm / 0.196" away from the burner tube. The thermocouple wire should be in line with the valve.
  • General Cleaning: Exterior surfaces can be wiped with mild dishwashing soap or baking soda and rinsed with water.
  • Stainless Steel Care: For general cleaning, use warm water, soap, ammonia, or detergent with a soft cloth. For fingerprints or stubborn stains, use specialized stainless steel cleaners and polishes, applying in the direction of the polish lines. In salt air environments, clean stainless steel surfaces every two weeks to prevent corrosion.
  • Storage: When not in use, turn off the gas supply, disconnect the quick connect valve, carefully remove and store lava rocks, and cover the fire table. Store in a cool, dry location away from children and pets.
  • Troubleshooting: The manual provides guidance for common issues such as burner not lighting, irregular flame patterns, black smoke, sudden drop in gas flow, or flame blow out, with recommended solutions. For persistent issues, contact Elementi technical support.

Warranty:

Elementi fire features and accessories are warranted to be free from defects in parts and workmanship under normal use and service for a period of 1 year from the date of purchase. The warranty is non-transferable and applies only to units used for non-commercial personal use. Damage from shipping, staining, abuse, improper installation, repair, or modifications by unauthorized personnel, as well as minor chipping, weather fading, water staining, and non-structural hairline cracks, are not covered. Cast concrete's natural variations in color, texture, and small surface holes are also not covered. All gas lines must be installed by a licensed gas fitter for the warranty to be valid.
