Usage Features

Safety First:

  • Outdoor Use Only: This fire table is strictly for outdoor use in a well-ventilated space. It must never be used indoors, in a building, garage, camper, tent, car, or home due to the risk of toxic carbon monoxide fumes and asphyxiation.
  • Gas Leak Detection: If gas is smelled, immediately shut off the gas supply, extinguish any open flames, and evacuate the area. Contact the gas supplier or fire department.
  • Flammable Materials: Do not store or use gasoline or other flammable vapors and liquids within 25 feet (7.62 m) of the appliance. No combustible materials should be stored in the base enclosure.
  • Children and Pets: Children and adults should be alerted to high surface temperatures and kept away to avoid burns or clothing ignition. This fire table is not to be operated by children, and young children should be closely supervised.
  • Windy Conditions: Do not use in windy conditions.
  • Clothing: Do not wear flammable or loose clothing when operating.
  • Hot Surfaces: Do not touch hot surfaces until the unit has cooled, unless wearing protective gear.
  • Moving/Storing: Do not attempt to move or store the fire table until all parts are cool.
  • LP Tank Storage: LP gas cylinders must be stored outdoors in a well-ventilated area, out of reach of children. Disconnected cylinders must have threaded valve plugs tightly installed and must not be stored in any enclosed area. Never store LP gas tanks where temperatures can reach over 125°F (51.67°C) or in direct sunlight/near heat sources. Never fill an LP gas cylinder beyond 80% full.
  • Hose Protection: Protect the hose from any hot surfaces and pathways where people may trip.

Assembly and Connection:

  • Battery Installation: Install an AAA battery into the igniter box.
  • LP Tank Placement: Place the tank seat on the ground, position a 20 lb propane tank into it, and tighten the screw to secure the tank.
  • Distance from Gas Tank: The fire pit must be 60 inches (152.4 cm) away from the gas tank to prevent tipping hazards.
  • Gas Line Connection: Ensure no debris is in the LP gas tank head, regulator valve head, burner, or burner ports. Connect the gas line to the tank by turning the knob clockwise and hand-tightening firmly.
  • Fire Glass Placement: Wear gloves and place fire glass by hand, avoiding dumping to prevent clogging. Position fire glass about 0.5 inches (1.27 cm) above the burner, ensuring the igniter box is not blocked.
  • Adjustable Feet: Adjust the pre-installed feet to ensure the fire table is level and stable.

Lighting Instructions:

  • Using the Igniter:
    1. Ensure the control knob is in the "OFF" position.
    2. Slowly open the valve on the LP gas cylinder.
    3. Push and hold the igniter button to create sparks.
    4. While holding the igniter button, push and turn the control knob to "LOW" to light the burner.
    5. If ignition does not occur within 5 seconds, turn the control knob to "OFF," wait 5 minutes for gas to dissipate, then retry.
    6. Once lit, continue holding the knob for 20 seconds, then release.
    7. Observe the flame; ensure all burner ports are lit and the flame height is no more than 22 inches.
    8. Adjust flame height with the control knob.
  • Using a Long Match or Lighter:
    1. Use a shovel to move fire glass to access the burner.
    2. Wearing heat-resistant gloves, position a burning long match or butane lighter near the burner (do not lean over the fire table).
    3. Turn the control knob counterclockwise to "LOW."
    4. Remove the match/lighter.
    5. After lighting, use a shovel and heat-resistant gloves to carefully move the fire glass back into position.
    6. Observe the flame; ensure all burner ports are lit and the flame height is no more than 22 inches.
    7. Adjust flame height with the control knob.
  • Re-lighting: If the burner flame goes out during operation, immediately turn the control knob "OFF" and allow gas to clear for a minimum of 5 minutes before attempting to re-light.

Turning Off:

  1. Turn and push the control knob clockwise to the "OFF" position.
  2. Turn the cylinder valve on the gas tank clockwise to close.

Maintenance Features

Regular Inspection:

  • Before Each Use:
    • Remove fire glass and examine the burner and components for dirt, spider webs, or nests. Clean with a soft brush and soapy water if dirty.
    • Check the hose for signs of excessive abrasion, wear, cracks, or cuts through the visual check hole. Replace if damaged.
    • Inspect the burner to ensure it is securely in place.
    • Check the air mixer for obstructions.
    • Check all gas connections for leaks.
    • Check the ignition system for proper sparking.
    • Check components for damage, rust, or excessive wear.
    • If any component is damaged, do not operate the fire table until proper repairs are made.
  • Annually: The appliance should be inspected by a qualified service person at least annually. More frequent cleaning may be required.
  • CGA No 791 Service Valve Seal: Inspect the seal inside the CGA No 791 service valve on the LP gas cylinder when replacing the cylinder or at least once per year. Replace if damaged by a certified gas dealer.

Cleaning:

  • General Care: Clean the outdoor fire table regularly to ensure safe use and extend product life.
  • Exterior Surfaces: Wipe with mild dishwashing soap or baking soda, then rinse with water.
  • Stainless Steel:
    • For general cleaning, use warm water, soap, ammonia, or detergent with a soft cloth or sponge.
    • For fingerprints/smears, use 3M Stainless Steel Cleaner and Polish or similar products.
    • For stubborn stains/discoloration, use 3M Stainless Steel Cleaner and Polish, Allchem Concentrated Cleaner, or similar products, applying with a soft cloth in the direction of polish lines.
    • In salt air environments, clean stainless steel surfaces at least every two weeks to prevent surface rust.

Storage:

  • Cooling: Do not move or store the fire table until it is completely out and cool to the touch.
  • Gas Tank: Turn gas OFF at the tank connection, remove the tank, and store it in a cool, dry, outdoor location, away from children.
  • Fire Glass: Carefully remove rock filler (fire glass) and store components flat to protect from breakage.
  • Covering: ALWAYS cover the outdoor fire table when not in use.
  • Location: Store in a cool, dry location away from children and pets.

Troubleshooting: The manual provides detailed troubleshooting steps for common issues such as:

  • Burner not lighting with igniter (wet electrodes, dead battery, cracked igniter pin, loose wire, shorting wire, bad igniter).
  • Burner not lighting with a match (no gas flow, improperly connected coupling nut/regulator, obstructed gas flow, spider webs/insect nests in air mixer, clogged burner ports).
  • Black smoke emission (pinched hose, obstructed flame at burner ports).
  • Sudden drop in gas flow or reduced flame height (out of gas, activated excess flow safety device).
  • Irregular flame pattern (clogged burner ports).
  • Flame blow out (high winds, low LP gas, tripped excess flow valve).
  • Flame losing heat in cold weather (ice on LP gas tank due to slow vaporization).
