The Emaux skimmer is a crucial component in a pool's filtration system, designed to collect floating debris from the water surface before it sinks. Skimmers are generally recommended for general use in pools. The wide-mouth skimmer models extend the receiving area, increasing the water collection efficiency, particularly beneficial for pools with a larger surface area. Skimmers are typically installed with the mouth as near to the top edge of the pool as possible to maximize their effectiveness in capturing surface debris.

All models are designed for either concrete or vinyl pools, with specific part numbers for each variant. The skimmers include a 1.5" Union Convertor (from Metric to Imperial) for plumbing connections. The valve operates in the inside direction and cannot operate in the opposite direction for vinyl pool installations.
Installation: For residential pools, it is recommended to install 1 skimmer per 25 m² of pool water surface area, with a flow rate not exceeding 5 m³/h. In commercial pools or larger residential pools, where more than 3 skimmers are required, they should be installed along the side walls of the pool. In both cases, the skimmer(s) should be positioned on the opposite wall to the inlet jets to ensure proper water circulation and debris collection. For vinyl pool type installations, it is crucial to avoid damage to the pump. The water level should be maintained at approximately 3/4 up the skimmer mouth to prevent air from being sucked into the system, which could lead to pump damage.
Vacuum Suction Connection: The skimmer basket can be used to connect a pool cleaner hose. To do this, remove the skimmer lid and basket, attach the vacuum hose of the pool cleaner to the hole of the vacuum plate (Fig.7). To achieve maximum vacuum efficiency, ensure that the main drain valve is closed. If more than one skimmer is installed in the pool, it should be closed off using the flow plug provided.
Extension Collar: An optional Extension Collar (E160901) is available for EM0130, EM0140, and EM0180 models. This accessory allows users to raise the skimmer cover to be level with the pool deck or patio, providing a cleaner aesthetic and easier access. Contact Emaux distributors to order this part.
Safety Warnings:
Basket and Cover: The skimmer basket and cover are supplied with a bayonet system. They should be turned until the two sides of the cover or basket match with the body to unlock them before withdrawing them. This design ensures a secure fit and easy removal for cleaning. Regularly check and empty the skimmer basket to prevent debris buildup, which can restrict water flow and reduce filtration efficiency.

Warranty: Emaux Water Technology Co., Ltd. provides a warranty for its products, covering defects in materials and workmanship under normal use during the warranty period. The warranty period begins on the day of purchase and extends only to the original purchaser. It is not transferable and applies only to subsequently purchased products from Emaux. The warranty includes all expendable parts necessary to repair or replace defective parts with new parts or, at the option of Emaux, serviceable used parts that are equivalent or superior to new parts in performance. The limited warranty extends only to products purchased from Emaux authorized resellers and does not cover damage resulting from accidents, misuse, abuse, acts of God, improper installation, unauthorized modifications, or products that have been damaged or rendered defective. The warranty explicitly states that Emaux makes no other warranties, expressed or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
