The Therapure® 640S is a UV air purifier designed to improve indoor air quality through a multi-stage purification process. This device is suitable for use in homes, offices, and other indoor environments, offering various features to ensure clean and healthy air.

Function Description

The Therapure® 640S employs a 5-stage purification process to effectively clean the air. This process includes:

Pre-Filter: Captures larger particles from the air.
Cleanable HEPA-Type Filter: Traps microscopic particles, allergens, and pollutants.
UV Lamp: Utilizes ultraviolet light to kill airborne germs, viruses, and bacteria.
Photo Catalyst Filter: Works in conjunction with the UV lamp to break down volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and odors.
ION Boost: Releases negative ions into the air to further enhance particle removal and freshen the air.

The device is equipped with an air sensor that monitors air quality and automatically adjusts fan speed in "Auto Mode" to maintain optimal purification. The air quality is indicated by LED lights: RED for poor, ORANGE for fair, and BLUE for good air quality.

Usage Features

The Therapure® 640S offers a range of user-friendly features, controllable via both the unit's control panel and a remote control.

Power Control: A simple press of the power button turns the air purifier on or off.
Fan Speed Control: Users can select from three different fan speeds (LOW, MED, HI) to achieve their desired cleaning level. The selected speed is displayed on the LED panel.
Auto Mode: This intelligent mode activates the air monitoring system. The device senses the air quality and automatically adjusts the fan speed to efficiently remove contaminants, ensuring continuous optimal performance without manual intervention.
Timer Control: The air purifier can be programmed to operate for a preset amount of time, from 1 to 24 hours, after which it will automatically power off. This feature is useful for scheduling purification cycles.
ION Generator: The ION Boost feature can be toggled on or off to release negative ions, which help to clump airborne particles together, making them easier for the filters to capture.

Maintenance Features

Regular maintenance is crucial for the optimal performance and longevity of the Therapure® 640S. The device is designed with easy-to-clean and replaceable components.

Cleanable HEPA-Type Filter: To maintain efficiency, the cleanable HEPA-Type Filter should be cleaned every four weeks, or more frequently in areas with high levels of airborne contaminants. Cleaning involves removing the inlet grill and filter, then using a vacuum cleaner with a brush or crevice attachment to clean both sides of the filter. It is important not to use water or household cleaners on this filter. After cleaning, the "Clean Filter Indicator" light can be reset by simultaneously pressing the ION and UV/VOC buttons for 3 seconds.
Pre-Filter Cleaning: The pre-filter, located within the air inlet grill, can be gently removed and submerged in warm, soapy water for cleaning. After cleaning, it should be thoroughly rinsed with clean water and allowed to dry completely before reinstallation.
External Surfaces Cleaning: The exterior of the unit can be cleaned with a washcloth slightly dampened with water and dishwashing soap. Care should be taken to prevent water from entering internal parts.
UV Lamp Replacement: The UV lamp has an effective operational lifetime of up to 12 months. For maximum effectiveness, it should be replaced annually, even if it still illuminates. The replacement process involves turning off and unplugging the unit, allowing the lamp to cool, then removing the inlet grill, filter, and UV lamp cover to access and replace the old lamp. It is crucial not to touch the glass part of the new lamp with bare hands, as oil from fingertips can reduce its effectiveness. Always ensure the UV lamp cover is installed when operating the unit to prevent exposure to harmful UV light.
Air Monitor Cleaning: Over time, the air monitor, which tracks air quality, may accumulate dust and dirt, leading to a frozen LED display. To clean it, power off and unplug the unit, then use a vacuum cleaner hose to suction any debris from the three small vent holes located near the inlet grill at the rear of the unit.
