Compulsory False Cavity Requirements
Ensure the replace is inserted rst before the wall lining is built.
For oor-mounted installaons, allow for fascia clearance, see B11 on page 15.
NOTE: Wall lining should hang below the lintel to meet the appliance edge.

B3 Floor Clearances
If the appliance is mounted above a “heat resistant oor” (including but not necessarily limited to: ceramic
les, concrete, and stone) then it may be posioned with the boom of the fascia level with the nished oor if
desired (30mm or 55mm spacer required under the re in this case depending on the fascia type).
If the appliance is mounted above a “heat sensive oor” (including but not necessarily limited to: carpets,
vinyl, carpet les, rugs and mats, mber, joinery, wooden ooring - see materials guide) then we recommend a
distance of 100mm from the boom of the fascia to the nished oor or hearth.
NOTE: Excerpt from AS/NZS 5601.1 Sec. 6.2.5. “A gas appliance shall be installed such that the surface
temperature of any nearby combusble surface will not exceed 65°C above ambient.”
