Overview

The EURO-PROX Professional Steam Cleaner, Model EP961, is a 1500-watt appliance designed for modern vapor steam cleaning in household settings. It operates on 110V 60Hz and has a maximum steam pressure of 4 Bar (58.8 PSI). The steam generator, made of Stainless Steel 18/10, has a water capacity of 2 US Quarts/Liters and can reach a maximum steam temperature of 240°F / 115.6°C.

Function Description:

The steam cleaner uses high-temperature, high-pressure steam to clean and sanitize various surfaces without the need for chemicals. It is equipped with a steam strength regulating knob (8) to adjust the steam flow, allowing for customized cleaning based on the surface and task. The unit features an On/Off switch (2) for the system, a yellow "Steam On" light (3) to indicate when steam is ready, and a red "Add Water" light (4) to signal low water levels. The On/Off steam switch (7) on the pistol grip controls the steam flow from the attachments.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Model: EP961
  • Voltage: 110V 60Hz
  • Power: 1500 Watts
  • Max Steam Pressure: 4 Bar (58.8 PSI)
  • Water Capacity: 2 US Quarts/Liters
  • Max. Steam Temperature: 240°F / 115.6°C
  • Steam Generator Material: Stainless Steel 18/10
  • Cord: Grounded-type 3-wire cord (3-prong plug)

Usage Features:

The steam cleaner is designed for ease of use and versatility.

  • Filling the Water Tank: To fill, press down and turn the safety cap (1) counter-clockwise. Use the provided water filling funnel (18) to add up to two quarts/liters of clean tap water. Hot water can be used to reduce heating time. The unit should be unplugged during filling.
  • Operation: After filling and plugging in, depress the heater On/Off switch (2). Allow approximately 10 minutes for the unit to reach working temperature and pressure, indicated by the yellow "Steam On" light (3). The steam strength can be adjusted using the regulating knob (8). The On/Off steam switch (7) on the handle activates steam flow.
  • Low Water Indicator: The red "Add Water" light (4) illuminates when the water level is low. When this occurs, the user should turn off the system, release all remaining steam, unplug the unit, and allow it to cool before refilling.
  • Accessories: The system comes with a range of accessories for different cleaning tasks:
    • Extension Tubes (9): Used to extend reach, connecting the pistol grip to other attachments.
    • Rectangular Brush for Floor / Carpet (10): Ideal for large surfaces. A terry cloth towel (8" x 17") can be wrapped around it to absorb dirt and protect delicate surfaces.
    • Angle Adapter (12): Connects the rectangular brush to the extension tubes, allowing for angled cleaning.
    • Glass & Tile Squeegee (13): Useful for cleaning windows, plastic, ceramic, tiled surfaces, and marble.
    • Detail Cleaning Attachment (14): For hard-to-reach areas, radiators, door/window jambs, and sanitary fixtures.
    • Small Nylon Detail Brush (15): Screws onto the detail cleaning attachment for focused scrubbing.
  • Cleaning Applications:
    • Floors (Wood, Vinyl, Tile): Use the large floor brush with a terry cloth towel. For wood floors, move quickly to avoid heat/moisture buildup. For stripping wax, use medium/high pressure without a towel, then clean residue. For waxed floors, use low pressure with a towel. For tile grout, use the small nylon detail brush.
    • Carpets: Vacuum first, then use the large floor brush with a cloth, moving slowly to allow steam penetration. Use dry towels to absorb moisture and dirt. For spot cleaning, use the detail attachment without a brush. Do not vacuum damp carpets.
    • Walls (Painted, Wallpaper): Use the large floor brush with a terry cloth towel. Use low pressure and clean quickly, especially on wallpaper.
    • Ceilings: Use the large floor brush with a terry cloth towel.
    • Windows, Glass, Mirrors: Use the glass and tile squeegee, working top to bottom. Avoid sudden temperature changes when cleaning outside windows.
    • Fiberglass/Stainless Steel: Use the triangular or small nylon detail brush, following with a terry cloth towel.
    • Garden Furniture: Use appropriate brushes based on the surface.
    • Bathroom Areas: Small nylon detail brush for grout, shower tracks, and toilet. Large floor brush with towel for larger areas. Effective for mold/mildew stains and soap scum.
    • Exterior Areas: Detail attachment and small nylon detail brush for leather upholstery, wheels, and bicycles.
    • Artificial Plants: Detail attachment without a brush to blow off dust.
    • Nicotine/Tar Removal: Hot terry cloth towel over large floor brush dissolves and absorbs residue.
    • Wax/Tar Removal: Detail attachment can "blow" excess material away, catching residue with a terry cloth towel. Vacuum loose residue first.

Maintenance Features:

  • Towel Use: For best results, use 100% cotton white terry cloth towels (8" x 17"). Always use dry towels as wet ones smear dirt. Wash towels with strong detergent and bleach, and scented fabric softener can be used to release scent during steaming.
  • Cleaning Brushes: Brushes can be cleaned with the steam cleaner itself. For larger brushes, blow off dirt into a garbage can using the detail attachment. Small detail brushes can be placed in a dishwasher basket.
  • Storage: After use, allow the system to cool completely before putting it away or opening the water tank. Wrap the power cord loosely around the system. Store indoors in a cool, dry area.
  • Safety Cap: Always turn the safety cap slowly when opening the water tank to allow any remaining steam to escape gradually.
  • No Chemicals: Never use chemicals, aromatic, alcoholic, or detergent products in the machine, as this can damage it and void the warranty. Only tap water should be used, or demineralized/distilled water in hard water areas to prevent stains.

Important Safeguards:

  • Read all instructions before use.
  • Do not immerse any part of the system in water.
  • Always turn off and unplug the system before filling, emptying, or when not in use.
  • Do not operate with a damaged cord or plug.
  • Do not disassemble or attempt to repair the unit; return to EURO-PRO Operating LLC for service.
  • Supervise children when the appliance is in use.
  • Avoid directing steam at people, animals, or plants, as steam is very hot and can cause burns.
  • Do not operate in the presence of explosive/flammable fumes.
  • Do not leave plugged in unattended.
  • Use only manufacturer's recommended accessories.
  • Do not pull the cord to unplug; grasp the plug.
  • Do not handle with wet hands or operate without shoes.
  • Do not use extension cords or outlets with inadequate current capacity. If an extension cord is necessary, use a 15-ampere, 14-gauge cord.
  • Never turn the appliance over or on its side when using steam.
  • Never direct steam towards electrical outlets.
