Usage Features:
General Operation:
- Filling Water: Ensure the unit is unplugged. Hold the unit upside down, remove the water tank filling plug, and use the provided filling flask to add 8 US Fl. Oz. (240 ml) of tap water (or distilled/purified water if tap water is very hard). Do not overfill. Replace the filling plug firmly.
- Power On: Plug the unit into a standard (120 volt, grounded) wall receptacle. The red power light will illuminate.
- Heating: Allow 30-60 seconds for the unit to reach working temperature; the blue steam ready light will illuminate.
- Steam Output: Upon initial use, some water may come out from the nozzle, which is normal. First usage may require 6-10 rapid pushes on the steam trigger before steam exits. Keep pressing for a few seconds until steam has developed, then continue intermittent pressing.
- Steam Trigger: Press the steam trigger intermittently, no more than once every 1 or 2 seconds. Rapid pressing can cause water leaking and spitting. Wait for steam pressure to reduce before pressing again to maintain a continuous flow of steam without dripping or leaking.
- Water Depletion: When the Steam Bottle runs out of water, steam output will decrease and then cease.
- Safety: Never attempt to fill under a water tap; always use the filling flask. Do NOT add cleaning solutions, scented perfumes, oils, or any other chemicals to the water used in this appliance, as this may damage the unit or make it unsafe and will void the warranty.
Attachments and Their Usage:
- Concentrator Nozzle (Non-Detachable): Useful for cleaning hard-to-reach surfaces like radiators, door and window jambs, shutters, and sanitary fixtures.
- Nylon Detail Brushes (x4): Best for tasks requiring concentrated medium-pressure steam with additional rubbing action, such as cleaning grout between tiles, ceramic, and marble. Push onto the end of the concentrator nozzle.
- Triangle Towel Adapter (x2) & Triangle Towel Covers (x2): For use on small surfaces or upholstery. Push the adapter onto the end of the concentrator nozzle, then place the towel over the adapter.
- Upholstery: Use with the triangular towel adapter. Use fast, light strokes, avoiding getting the fabric wet. For stubborn spots, work gently for no more than a minute, then wait five minutes and repeat. Finish with a brushing in one direction.
- Caution for Upholstery: Always determine the color-fastness of any fabric (especially reds or blues) by testing on a hidden area. If color comes off, the piece may need to be dry cleaned.
- Extended Concentrator (x2): Used to clean under toilet bowl rims or in hard-to-reach places. Push onto the end of the concentrator nozzle.
- Squeegee Handle (x2) & Squeegee (x2): Very useful for cleaning large windows, plastic material, ceramic, tiled, or marble surfaces. Attach the squeegee to its handle. Apply steam abundantly, then remove excess water and dirt with the wiping edge.
- Windows, Glass Surfaces, and Mirrors: Use the squeegee with top-to-bottom movements. For streak-free results, use lateral movements from top to bottom. Do not use on cold glass to prevent breakage.
- Micro Fiber Cloths (x2): For deep-down, streak-free cleaning with only water. Can be used dry as a duster or dampened. Effective on bathroom tiles, kitchen counters, mirrors, glass, stainless steel, and plastics. Use after steaming chrome fixtures for a gleaming shine.
- Scrubbing Pad Holder (x2) & Scrubbing Pad Set (x2): Useful for cleaning counters, ceramic, tiled, or marble surfaces. Attach the holder onto the concentrator nozzle, then press the scrubbing pad onto the base of the holder.
Specific Cleaning Applications:
- Exterior Areas: For detailing wheels, bicycles, tools, and equipment, use the concentrator nozzle and nylon detail brush. For exterior windows, apply vapor with the concentrator nozzle, then follow with the squeegee or a paper towel.
- BBQ's: Use the nylon detail brush to clean the BBQ rack.
- Garden Furniture: Use the nylon detail brushes on resin outdoor furniture.
- Bathroom Areas: For bathtubs, shower areas, grout, and shower door tracks, use the nylon detail brush. The squeegee is efficient for the rest of the area. For sanitary fixtures, use the concentrator nozzle with or without the nylon bristle brush. For sinks and faucets, use the nylon detail brush.
- Soap Scum: Dissolves under heat and moisture. Rinse or go over with a cloth towel. For hard soap scum, use the nylon detail brush or pre-treat with lemon, vinegar, or seltzer soda water.
- Blinds: Use the nylon detail brush. Work quickly on PVC blinds. Test for color fastness on fabric blinds.
- Refrigerator: Use the concentrator nozzle alone for dirt in the ice machine and on door seals. The vapor will not dry out or crack the seals. Can openers and other kitchen equipment can be cleaned with the nylon detail brush.
- Microwaves or other small appliances: Use the nylon detail brush for small areas. Do not inject steam into vent openings. Unplug electrical appliances before cleaning.
- Clothing: Excellent for removing wrinkles from fabrics. "Vaporize" the surface from a distance (12"-16").
Maintenance Features:
- After Each Use: Unplug the appliance, let it cool down completely, and empty all water from the water tank. Store in a dry, cool place with the filling hole open.
- Periodic Rinse: Every 10 tankfuls, rinse the steam cleaner to free it from deposits. Fill the water tank with water, shake vigorously, then tilt the cleaner upside down to empty the water tank and any scale deposits.
- Cleaning Brushes: Clean brushes with the steam cleaner (use pliers to hold them) or place them in the dishwasher basket.
- Micro Fiber Cloth Care: Before use, wash in hot water with detergent, rinse well, and let dry. Do not use fabric softeners or bleach. Do not put in dryer or iron. If used with cleaning products, wash and rinse well.
