Overview

This document describes the Euromatic 45cm Metal Pedestal Fan, a household appliance designed for indoor use to provide air circulation and cooling. The fan features a sturdy metal construction and offers various functionalities for user convenience and comfort.

Function Description

The Euromatic 45cm Metal Pedestal Fan is primarily designed to generate airflow and provide cooling in indoor environments. It operates with a motor that drives a fan blade, which is protected by front and rear safety grilles. The fan offers three distinct speed settings: Slow, Moderate, and Fast, allowing users to adjust the airflow intensity according to their preference and the ambient temperature.

A key feature of this fan is its oscillation function. When activated, the fan head pivots from side to side, distributing air across a wider area, which is particularly useful for cooling larger rooms or multiple occupants. For more focused cooling, the oscillation can be turned off, allowing the fan head to remain stationary in a desired position.

The fan's height is also adjustable, thanks to an extension pole and a height-adjustment collar. This allows users to set the fan at an optimal height for effective air circulation, whether it's for standing or sitting positions. The fan is designed for domestic use and is not suitable for commercial, industrial, or outdoor applications.

Usage Features

Before initial use, the fan requires assembly, which involves attaching the lower column to the base, securing the base cover, mounting the rear grille, fan blade, and front grille to the motor housing, and finally attaching the assembled fan head to the extension pole. Detailed instructions are provided to ensure proper and safe assembly. It is crucial not to plug the fan into an electrical outlet until it is fully assembled.

To operate the fan, it should be placed on a dry, flat, and stable surface to prevent overturning. The speed control knob, located at the back of the motor housing, is used to select the desired fan speed (0 for OFF, 1 for Slow, 2 for Moderate, 3 for Fast). Before plugging in the fan, ensure the speed knob is in the OFF position.

The oscillation function is controlled by a knob on top of the motor housing. Pressing it down activates oscillation, while pulling it up stops it, allowing the fan head to remain stationary. Height adjustment is achieved by loosening the height-adjustment ring, extending or retracting the extension pole to the desired height, and then retightening the ring to secure it.

Safety is paramount when using the fan. Users are advised to ensure the outlet voltage matches the fan's rating, keep hands dry when handling the plug, and avoid using the fan outdoors or on wet surfaces. The power cord should be regularly checked for damage and kept away from traffic areas, heat sources, and not run under carpeting. The fan should never be left unattended during use and must be switched off and unplugged when not in use, before cleaning, or before moving. It is also important to avoid inserting fingers or objects through the grilles while the fan is running and to ensure free airflow by not blocking the grilles.

Maintenance Features

The Euromatic 45cm Metal Pedestal Fan is designed for relatively easy maintenance to ensure its longevity and efficient operation. Regular cleaning is recommended to prevent dust and dirt buildup.

For dusting, a vacuum cleaner nozzle with a soft brush can be lightly run over the front and rear grilles to remove accumulated dust. Alternatively, a soft, dry cloth can be used. For stubborn stains, a slightly damp, soapy cloth is suitable, but care must be taken to ensure the cloth is not too wet, especially around the motor housing, to prevent water exposure to electrical components. It is crucial not to immerse the fan in water or other liquids, spray it with liquids, or allow water to drip into the motor housing. Harsh cleaning agents such as petrol, solvents, abrasive, or alkaline cleaners should never be used.

At the end of the season, a thorough cleaning is advised to maintain the fan in good working order for the next season. When storing the fan, it is recommended to disassemble and clean it first. The original carton can be used for storage in a safe, dry, and dust-protected location. If stored fully assembled, covering the fan with a large plastic bag or material will protect it from dust.

The appliance contains no user-serviceable parts, and users should not attempt to take it apart, repair, or modify it. In case of damage, malfunction, or a damaged power cord/plug, the unit should not be operated. Instead, contact the after-sales support center for advice on repair or replacement by appropriately qualified personnel. Always ensure the fan is switched off and disconnected from the power outlet before any cleaning, maintenance, or storage to prevent possible injury.
